This could be the most important match of the tournament for these two players. The winner will be going to Worlds and will be battling it out for even bigger prizes. The loser will be out and will have to wallow in what-if's. Justin is playing an extremely aggressive damage-based deck that aims to drop his opponent to 0 as soon as possible. He still hasn't lost a match that he's shown up to. Hintze is representing Team Outphase and is hoping to make it to Worlds with almost the same T-Hero deck he played in Minneapolis. The match was very casual, with both players joking around with each other and the spectators.
Hintze won the roll and chose to go first. He set a monster and passed to Justin. Justin summoned Cyber Phoenix and attacked to destroy Card Trooper. He set a spell or trap and passed to Hintze, who played Destiny Draw, discarding Destiny Hero - Malicious to draw two cards. He special summoned Cyber Dragon, removed a Malicious to special summon another one in attack mode and played Metamorphosis on Malicious to special summon Ryu Senshi. Justin was at 2400 now, and Hintze set two spell or traps before passing.
Justin set another spell or trap card and played Card Destruction. Hintze chained Crush Card Virus, but Justin had no monsters. He drew one with Card Crush Virus though, and Goldd, Wu-Lord of Dark World was sent to the graveyard. He played Mystical Space Typhoon targeting Hintze's face down spell or trap, which was chained and revealed to be Ring of Destruction, which destroyed Hintze’s Card Trooper. Justin then played Snatch Steal to take control of Cyber Dragon and attacked to destroy Ryu Senshi. He set a monster and passed.
Hintze was up now and summoned Snipe Hunter. He discarded a card to destroy Snatch Steal and hit it. He tried to destroy the back row card but missed. Hintze then set a spell or trap and attacked with Cyber Dragon to destroy the face down Injection Fairy Lily. Justin drew, set a monster and a spell or trap, and passed back to Hintze, who pitched his topdecked card to destroy the monster, but missed. Cyber Dragon attacked and destroyed a face down Cyber Phoenix, and Hintze attacked with his Snipe Hunter for game.
Justin chose to go first for the second duel, and opened with Confiscation! He chose Card Trooper and set a monster and a spell or trap. Hintze dropped Nobleman of Crossout before setting a spell or trap and ending. Justin did likewise, but set a monster as well. Hintze set another spell or trap, which Justin destroyed in the end phase with Mystical Space Typhoon. Next turn he set his hand and flipped Morphing Jar. Nobleman of Extermination removed Hintze’s Torrential Tribute from play, and Justin summoned Card Trooper to send three cards. He played Premature Burial on Cyber Dragon and attacked directly with the team, dropping Hintze to 3300. He set a spell or trap card and passed to Hintze.
Hintze played Brain Control on Card Trooper and used its effect. Snatch Steal dropped next, taking control of Cyber Dragon. He tributed Card Trooper for Jinzo and attacked Morphing Jar with Jinzo before swinging directly with Cyber Dragon. Hintze set a spell or trap and passed to Womack, who opened with Cyber Dragon. Card Trooper flopped next, and Brain Control flipped to steal Jinzo. Trooper was pumped to 1900, Jinzo took out Cyber Dragon, and the remainder of Justin's monsters attacked for game.
Hintze decided to go first for the decisive third game. Hintze set a spell or trap on his turn and passed. Justin played Heavy Storm, summoned Injection Fairy Lily, and attacked directly, pumping her ATK to 3400. He set a spell or trap and passed to Hintze. Hintze played Heavy Storm to destroy Justin's backfield card. He summoned Snipe Hunter, played Snatch Steal, and attacked directly with both monsters. He discarded Destiny Hero - Malicious and Destiny Hero - Disk Commander to destroy the Injection Fairy Lily, but missed both times. He set his final card, a spell or trap, and passed.
Justin played Snatch Steal to take Snipe Hunter, discarded to destroy Hintze's spell or trap, which he flipped, Call of the Haunted, to special summon the Disk Commander. It was irrelevant though. Justin summoned another Injection Fairy Lily and the Lily's bumped. Both players pumped, and the Snatched Snipe Hunter attacked directly for game!
