Scott Happel had just lost to Jerry Wang while Jason Halloway fell victim to Erin Diaz. These two players now had to battle it out for ownership of a Doomcaliber Knight. Although the hopes for both players to become a Shonen Jump Championship had fallen for today, there was still hope for one to win that prestigious Doomcaliber Knight.
Scott won the roll 6-2 and both players drew their cards to start off the match. Scott opened with Reinforcement of the Army to obtain Elemental Hero Stratos, who was summoned to fetch Destiny Hero – Disk Commander to his hand. He set a back row and ended his turn. Jason’s turn was up and he opened his move with a back row, but took it back. Instead, he opened with Reinforcement of the Army to search for Elemental Hero Stratos as he summoned him to search out Destiny Hero – Dasher. Jason sent his Hero to attack Scott’s but he was stopped by Raigeki Break! Jason ended with a back row while Scott drew and played Monster Reborn to bring back his discarded Disk Commander but he was removed by D.D. Crow. He played Mystical Space Typhoon to take out Jason’s set Escape from the Dark Dimension, summoned Strike Ninja, and both monsters attacked Jason for 3500. Jason drew and special summoned Dark Grepher discarding Dasher and then tributed it off for Jinzo! With three Dark monsters in the graveyard, he brought out Dark Armed Dragon! He removed all three monsters to clear Scott’s field and attacked with Jinzo and Dark Armed Dragon! Scott’s turn was up and, after looking at his draw, he scooped up his cards!

Both players sided quietly this round and Scott, now seeing his chances at getting that prestigious card slipping away, hoped to make a comeback for the next two duels.
Scott chose to start off duel number two and opened up with Allure of Darkness removing Dark Magician of Chaos after drawing two cards. He summoned Elemental Hero Stratos to pull Destiny Hero – Disk Commander to his hand. He played Destiny Draw discarding that same Commander to draw two, following up with Monster Reborn to bring him back in defense and draw two more cards! He set a back row and ended his turn. A great opening move!
Jason started his first turn and looked at his hand: two Dark Armed Dragon, Destiny Draw, Dark Grepher, Reinforcement of the Army, and Allure of Darkness. He played Allure of Darkness and drew Monster Reborn and Mystical Space Typhoon. Jason removed a Dark Armed Dragon from play for the Allure of Darkness and proceeded with his turn. He played Reinforcement of the Army to get Destiny Hero – Disk Commander to his hand and then activated Destiny Draw to discard Disk Commander to draw two. Jason played Mystical Space Typhoon to destroy Scott’s set Escape from the Dark Dimension! Jason discarded Dasher to special summon Dark Grepher from his hand! He dumped Dark Magician of Chaos by discarding Spirit Reaper to the graveyard and then played Monster Reborn to bring him back! He played Monster Reborn to bring back Armageddon Knight and used its effect to dump off a monster from the deck. With three Dark monsters in the graveyard, Jason brought out a Dark Armed Dragon, removed the Darks in the graveyard to destroy the field, and all monsters attacked for game!
