 2004 was a huge year for Yu-Gi-Oh!, but 2005 has been even bigger. Better expansions, new ultimate rare cards, more leagues, more tournaments, and the Shonen Jump Championship Series have made the past few months the biggest that the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG has ever seen in North America. The Shonen Jump Championships lit a fire under Anaheim, sparked a blaze in the city of sin, and the Yu-Gi-Oh! flame is raging out of control today, as hundreds of duelists pile in to the Franklin County Veteran Memorial Center in Columbus, Ohio. After the smoke cleared, 723 duelists took their seats for one of the largest TCG tournaments in North American history!
Their goal? To prove that for at least one moment in the game’s illustrious history, they are the best—the undisputed, irrefutable King of Games!
. . . Oh, and that laptop computer? The Nintendo DSs, Playstation 2s, and the huge quantities of Yu-Gi-Oh! cards and swag? That’s definitely on the minds of the competitors as well.
