It’s over! Teleport Dark Armed Dragon is on top, and the dueling world has a brand new two-time Shonen Jump Champion!

 

Cesar Gonzalez’s day had a rough start, dueling in the Top 16 feature match against Austin Kulman. Cesar took a narrow 2-1 victory after battling back from triple Malicious in Game 2, then went on to duel George Saavedra in a 2-0 match. It was smooth sailing from there on out, as he defeated Tora Uy and finally Chris Hentz in the finals, 2-0’ing his way to his second Championship win!

 

Once again, Teleport Dark Armed was the number one deck in Day 2, followed by Lightsworn. Just like in Tulsa, only one Gladiator Beast deck made it to the Top 16, but this time around it was an all-new build; Eric Ing’s Gladiator Beasts may represent the future of the archetype. Two weeks from now we’ll see the fallout at Shonen Jump Championship Charlotte.

Day 2
Another Finals, and another TeleDAD mirror match!
A win here would do a lot to build Tora Uy's reputation, and would be a big victory for local duelists.
Both of these competitors were playing TeleDAD, but Adam Corn was carrying a ton of momentum going into this match. A win here from Nguyen would be a big surprise.
This was the match that everybody here at the Seattle Center wanted to see — the dueling prodigy and former National Champion Austin Kulman, versus Shonen Jump Champion and highly consistent independent Cesar Gonzalez!
Having twice the chance to make it to Day 2 ought to mean twice the number of winners!
All right, he made it through until Day 2, and here is his reward — Chris Hentz speaks out.
Yesterday, Teleport Dark Armed Dragon dominated the field and put a whopping thirteen duelists into the Top 16.
Day 1
It’s over! Day 1 of the biggest Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG tournament Seattle has ever seen has drawn to a conclusion.
Justin Breese battled his way to this bubble match today with Teleport Dark Armed, but now he’s up against one of the most consistent players in the game: the one and only Princess, Cesar Gonzalez!
We’ve got a lineup of hopefuls here — let’s see who’s stepping up and putting their names on the line!
A win here would virtually cement Saveedra’s Day 2 repeat, but Kulman looked hungrier than ever before.
It’s always a difficult decision to give someone two feature matches in one day, but if I didn’t feature this, I think there’d be riots.
Eric Ing is just 16 years old, but at one point he was the number one ranked player in the United States. Roth lives in nearby Puyallup, and at 21 years of age he’s playing TeleDAD in today’s tournament.
We were just halfway through the day here in Seattle, but two Shonen Jump Champions were already clashing with undefeated records!
Matt Highline was undefeated here today with Synchro Zombies, and was dedicating his play here today to his 10 month-old daughter, Sakura.
In order to survive, Gladiator Beasts will need to evolve and adapt. Today, that’s exactly what Eric Ing has done with them.
Highline has always been determined to do his own thing, and over the years he’s gone from an ambitious novice player with a mission, to a highly experienced (not to mention creative) duelist just inches away from his breakthrough showing.
For two tournaments now, Royal Oppression decks were missing from the Shonen Jump metagame. Today though, Tomas Mijares and several duelists like him are looking to turn that around.
Could Mijares' silver bullet strategy really deliver? And if it could, could it really take down one of the greatest duelists in America?
It seems like these days the Shonen Jump circuit is all about surprises, and we’re starting off with a big one here today.
