Well, we’ve already lost 2 of our 3 previous winners. Chris Moosman alone retains the potential to become a two-time winner! Check back in round 7 or 8 for another update on our daring competitors, and find out who’s out and who’s still got a chance.
Scrub Brush Challenge: Orlando!Well, I don’t know if it’s a southern thing, the lack of
Cyber-Stein, or just a coincidence, but I had over forty people want to sign up. (I think
Atlanta had about 30, way back when.) Anyway, they had to survive the dice roll to stay in, and here’s our final list! It’s a long list, and therefore updates might not happen as frequently as they usually do — but, here we go! In alphabetical order, we’ve got . . .
Homero Aleman is 16 years old, from Immokalee, Florida. He’s here as a Brave Individual, and he’s really good at topdecking. Definitely a bonus in the Scrub Brush Challenge.
Steven Bates is 18 years old, from Richmond, Kentucky. He’s the sole representative of Team KFC here today and he’s a computer science major.
Toby Boas is 14 years old from Clearmont, Florida. He’s here as a Brave individual, and he also competes in chess tournaments.
Bryan Camareno is 20 years old, from Orlando, Florida. He’s representing Team Fallen, and is a popular online columnist.
Bobby Chambers is 16 years old, from Long Island, New York. He’s representing Team BTA and he won the 2006 Shonen Jump Championship in Boston.
Michael “Weevel" Contrelli is 12 years old, from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
Brian Cornish is 15 years old, from Palm Harbor Florida. He’s representing Team Reckless, and he loses on the bubble all the time.
Adam Donahue is 17 years old, from Brockton, Massachusetts. He’s representing Team Outlook, and he really likes caterpillars.
Deangelo Hoover is 16 years old, and representing Team Metabreaker. He likes the fact that he can fit in to almost any crowd, and people like him in an instant.
David Faulkner is 21 years old, from Orlando, Florida. He’s representing the Elite Four. When his pet scorpion died, he kept it in a little jar.
Andrew Fredella is from Boca Raton, Florida and he’s representing Team Nexus. He likes to sleep a lot. He’s also a previous SBC winner.
Bryce Lapierre is 17 years old, from Brockton, Massachusetts. Everyone at his local tournaments calls him "Caveman."
Fili Luna is 20 years old, from Arlington, Texas. He’s pursuing a career as a professional poker player.
Michael Lux is 18 years old, from Westley Chapel, Florida. He’s representing Team LOD, and has scrubbed every Challenge he’s entered. He also ran eight miles to see me. (I’m not so sure about that.)
Lawrence Mammah is from Wesley Chapel, FL and is representing Team Viper. Sometimes, he wears different socks.
Chris Moosman is 17 years old, representing Team NOR-CAL. He’s also a previous SBC winner.
Victor Nolen is 20 years old, from Jacksonville, Florida. He’s representing Team Remix, and he likes to look at people to see what they are like.
Jason Pancho is 18 years old, from Orlando, Florida. He’s representing the Elite Four, and his nickname is “The Asian Persuasion.”
Lakeashia Reed is 17 years old, from Jersey City, New Jersey. She’s representing Team BTA and is in grad school.
Marco Rodriguez is 21 years old, from Orlando, Florida. He’s part of the Elite Four and was named after Marco Polo.
Josean Rosario is 18 years old from Florida, and representing Team Remix. He’s actually more serious about being a Super Smash Brothers Melee champion than a Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG Champion.
Tyler Shafer is 16 years old, from Whitman, Massachusetts. He’s representing Team Outlook, and is happy because he missed out on two previous SBC’s and now he finally gets to do it. Here he is with Adam Donohue and Bryce Lapierre.
John Schiavone is 21 years old, from Far Rockaway, Queens, New York. He’s representing Team BTA, and is the first person ever in the history of the Challenge to take his scrubbing from me!
Ryan Spicer is 15 years old, from Arlington, Texas. He’s representing Team Outphase, and I hear everyone blames Monarch decks on him. He’s a previous Scrub Brush Challenge winner.
Another interesting fact in today’s challenge, is that we’ve got three previous winners competing — Ryan Spicer, Andrew Fredella, and Chris Moosman. Can any of them pull off another win? Nine rounds will tell! I’ll be back in a bit with an update of where they all stand.
