Ian Wingrove owns a game store called “Past Times” from Oren. It’s hard to specify the games he typically plays. As a store owner, Ian has played various board games, card games . . . well, any game. These card games include Magic: The Gathering, Vs. System, and, of course, Yu-Gi-Oh! Raymond Purnama, also known as Twinsen21, originally started as a player of the Pokemon trading card game, and eventually became fond of various other TCGs, including Yu-Gi-Oh! He is also a moderator and writer for the Pojo gaming website.
Both players started off with a handshake and a die roll. Ray won the roll and chose to go first. Ray started off with a set card and a set monster. Ian started off his turn with The Forceful Sentry. He chose to return Ray’s Jinzo to his deck. Ian then summoned Berserk Gorilla and attacked, but Ray responded with Sakuretsu Armor. Ray flip summoned D. D. Warrior Lady, set 1 card, and attacked . . . into Ian’s activated Scapegoat activation. Ian was left with three goat tokens. Ian summoned Goblin Attack Force and attacked the warrior lady, which removed herself and the goblins. Ray summoned D.D Assailant and smacked another goat token. Ian summoned Magical Scientist during his turn and used priority to special summon Ryu Senshi. The Dragon Warrior attacked and was removed by Ray’s Assailant, while the Scientist attacked directly for 300. Ray had 7400 life points and Ian had 7000. Ray set one card face-down and ended his turn. Ian chose to summon a D. D. Warrior Lady of his own, and Ray flipped Scapegoat to block Ian’s two attacks for the turn.
Ray summoned Tribe-Infecting Virus and used priority to discard and declare warriors, but Ian responded with Ring of Destruction. Both Virus and D. D. Warrior Lady were destroyed, and both duelists suffered 1600 points of damage. Ian summoned a Nimble Momonga and destroyed the rest of Ray’s goat tokens with Momonga and Scientist. Ray flipped Call of the Haunted to revive is Virus, which discarded a card to destroy all of Ian’s beasts. Virus attempted to attack Ian’s scientist, but Ian activated Sakuretsu Armor to blow the Virus to pieces. Ian summoned a monster, which immediately triggered Ray’s new set card, Torrential Tribute. However, Ian played Premature Burial to summon Berserk Gorilla, who attacked Ray for 2000 damage. While Ray attempted to hold Ian off with a set card, it was not enough to stop Ian’s relentless assault.

After going through their side decks, the second duel began. Ray chose to go first, and opened the duel with The Forceful Sentry. He got a look at Ian’s all monster hand, and returned Goblin Attack Force to Ian’s deck. Ray followed up Sentry with Painful Choice, which put various cards such as Jinzo in the graveyard, and Sinister Serpent in his hand. Ian summoned Enraged Battle Ox and attacked Ray’s face-down monster, which triggered Ray’s Raigeki Break. Serpent was discarded and Ox was destroyed. Ray flip summoned Berserk Gorilla, but it was immediately destroyed by Ian’s Ring of Destruction when in the battle phase. Ray set a monster, two cards, and activated Mirage of Nightmare. Ian summoned Nimble Momonga followed by Gigantes, but the special summoning of the earth monster triggered Ray’s Torrential Tribute. Ray destroyed his Mirage with Mystical Space Typhoon and summoned D. D. Warrior Lady to attack into Ian’s Sakuretsu Armor. Afterwards, Ray gained field advantage by destroying Ian’s Tribe-Infecting Virus with Berserk Gorilla. After Ian played his own Sentry, he saw there was almost no way he could defeat two Sakuretsu Armors that resided in Ray’s hand. Ian’s life points were eventually reduced to zero.

Ian chose to go first, and set a monster for his first turn. Ray set two cards, shook his head, and passed to Ian. He summoned Goblin Attack Force and attacked directly. Ray had 5700 life points and Ian was at 8000. Ray summoned Berserk Gorilla to destroy Ian’s Goblin. Ian summoned Magical Scientist and paid 1000 life points with priority to special summon Ryu Senshi Ian was at 7000 . Ian then special summoned Gigantes by removing the Goblin in his graveyard from play. After contemplating for a minute or two, Ian triggered Magical Scientist again in order to special summon Dark Blade the Dragon Knight. The Dragon Knight went after Ray’s Gorilla, while Ian’s Momonga, Gigantes, and Scientist went direct. Ray attempted to use Ring of Destruction on Ian’s Gigantes, but Ian triggered Ryu Senshi, paid another 1000 life points, and negated the ring’s effect. Ray had 2300 life points to Ian's 5000.
Ray summoned Tribe-Infecting Virus, discarded a Premature Burial and Dust Tornado to destroy Gigantes and Nimble Momonga, and attacked Ian’s Scientist to turn the tables. Ian entered his turn by destroying Ian’s Sakuretsu Armor with Mystical Space Typhoon, while Smashing Ground destroyed Ray’s Virus. Ray recovered from this situation for a little while with Berserk Gorilla, but it was later destroyed by one of Ian’s cards. With two cards face down, Ray summoned D. D. Warrior Lady to attack an older Nimble Momonga that was summoned by Ian. Ian attempted to destroy Ray’s Warrior Lady with his newly summoned Gorilla, but Sakuretsu Armor took care of the big ape. Ray got a shot in directly with his Warrior Lady, but could not lower Ian’s life points to zero in time before attacking into his Fiber Jar later with a summoned D. D. Assailant that turn.
Ray could not summon again, so he set two cards and ended his turn. Ian began his refreshed turn with Pot of Greed, followed by the summoning of Enraged Battle Ox, which was destroyed by Ray’s Sakuretsu Armor. Ian set three cards face-down and passed to Ray. All Ray had was the setting of a Sinister Serpent that was taken control of by Ian’s Change of Heart earlier that turn. Ian attempted to end the game by flip summoning it and summoning Nimble Momonga, but Ray chained to that final summon with Torrential Tribute. Ray had 1300 life points and Ian had 1700.
Ray then drew and played Painful Choice. After some deliberation, Ian gave Ray The Forceful Sentry, which was immediately played. Ian was forced to return Exiled Force to his deck. Ian set one card face-down and ended, while Ray also set one monster and card face-down to end his turn. Ian had nothing once again. Ray summoned Exiled Force to make an attack, but Ian flipped Scapegoat. All four goats were left on the field. Ian attempted to recover with some new summons, which were destroyed, and Ray ended up going direct with Tribe-Infecting Virus, which was destroyed by Ring of Destruction. Ian won the game by only 100 life points.
