For the first time in months, we have another Overdose versus Rampage feature match! This time around it was for all the marbles: one of these competitors would make Top 8, while the other would go home disappointed. Both of these players are legends in their own right, and now, one was about to become even more legendary.
Perovic opened with a set card to each zone. Labounty summoned Mystic Swordsman LV2, attacked, and destroyed Perovic’s set Treeborn Frog. He set a spell or trap and car and ended.
Breaker the Magical Warrior came down on Perovic’s side, but it was swallowed up by Bottomless Trap Hole. Kris passed; Labounty activated Heavy Storm to destroy Torrential Tribute, and summoned Spirit Reaper. He attacked directly with the Reaper, then the Swordsman, discarding Book of Moon.
Perovic drew and tributed his Frog for Mobius the Frost Monarch, but hit Ring of Destruction, losing the Frost Monarch. He used Brain Control to destroy Reaper and passed, but next turn took shots from D. D. Warrior Lady and the Swordsman. Two turns later he was scooping. Labounty had just drawn everything he needed, and the duel was over in a heartbeat.
Both duelists set to doing some side decking: not a single feature match duelist had failed to side deck after game 1, win or lose.
Perovic opened game 2 with Confiscation, revealing Cyber-Stein, Bottomless Trap Hole, Reinforcement of the Army, D. D. Warrior Lady, and Exiled Force in Labounty’s Hand. Perovic perused the cards as Labounty spread them out on the table, and eventually elected to discard Bottomless Trap Hole. Perovic set one back row card; Labounty summoned D. D. Warrior Lady, attacked directly for 1500, and passed after setting one spell or trap.
Cyber Dragon was special summoned by Perovic, but Labounty flipped another Bottomless Trap Hole! Perovic shook his head, used Smashing Ground to destroy D. D. Warrior Lady, and attacked with Mystic Tomato. He lost it to Exiled next turn. A turn later Perovic set a monster and a spell or trap, but Labounty topdecked into Heavy Storm.
He activated it, summoned Cyber-Stein, and brought down Cyber End Dragon. Limiter Removal sealed the deal, and it was over.
Fate proves to be on Labounty’s side, as he moves on with a 9-1 record.
