Reader Challenge 5: Excitement!
Jason Grabher-Meyer

By now, we all understand what happens when a single Ojama Trio gets together and causes a ruckus. Long story short—it gets windy and stuff blows up. But what isn’t as widely known is what happens when multiple Ojama Trios get together. In fact, no one knows what happens in such a situation.

I believe we should find out. How many Ojamas are necessary to exceed the hurricane level of Ojama excitement? We don’t know. Therefore, it’s your job to round up as many Ojamas as you can, over the course of five turns, in . . .

Reader Challenge 5: Ojama Delta Hoedown!

Every time you summon an Ojama Token,
Ojama Black, Ojama Yellow, Ojama Green, or Ojama King, you will be awarded one Ojama point. The objective of the challenge is to earn as many Ojama points by the completion of the end phase of your opponent’s fifth turn. You will go first.

Your deck may be any size. You may determine all your draws as you choose, as well as the order and content of your deck.

You may not rely on the opponent’s deck to contain particular cards, except that his opening hand will contain three copies of
Ojama Trio. You can rely on the opponent making choices in your favor when confronted with them. For example, you may choose what you get from Painful Choice or other similar effects. The opponent will do nothing except for drawing in the draw phase—he or she will not summon, attack, change the battle positions of monsters, play or set spells or traps, or do anything else.

Both players begin with 8000 life points and five cards in hand, as with any normal duel. This challenge is in the Advanced format.

If you go below 0 life points or would otherwise lose or draw the game, you lose the challenge.

If your opponent goes below 0 life points or would otherwise lose or draw the game, you lose the challenge.

If your opponent ever controls any monsters without “Ojama” in the name, you lose the challenge.

You may not target any of your opponent’s monsters with the effect of an effect monster you control. If you do, you automatically lose the challenge.

The following cards are banned from this challenge:

Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning
Butterfly Dagger Elma
Dark Magician of Chaos
Dimension Fusion
Return From The Different Dimension

The winner will be the first duelist to send in the working entry that earns the most Ojama points. That individual will receive six booster packs, as well as fame and glory, going down in history as the duelist who hosted the biggest Ojama Delta Hoedown! And if “Ojama Delta Hoedown Champion!” isn’t a cool title, what is?

That’s it! Let’s see how big a hoedown you can make!

—Jason Grabher-Meyer, Ojama Fan!

Details:

Please put “Reader Challenge 5: xxxxx” in the subject line of your email, where x is equal to the total number of Ojama points you’ve earned.

Be sure to state your opening hand, and then give me a step-by-step breakdown of how you deal the damage. Be precise and clear—I’ll do my best, but if I can’t follow your steps, you may not win even if you have the highest score.

Don’t forget to include your full name and mailing information. We can’t send you your prize without it! Got a message board screen name? Feel free to include that, too.

Please only enter once. Additional entries will void all entries you submit.

If you have an infinite solution that involves a repeated loop, you must choose a number to finish on (because Yu-Gi-Oh! doesn’t allow infinite loops, just a repeated series of actions a stated number of times).
