This Week At Metagame.com
As for us, check out what we have in store for you this week . . .
Mike Rosenberg kicks off the week with a look at Masked Sorcerer! With Messenger of Peace seeing an increasing amount of play, this card has a lot of potential, and the newly-released Magician’s Circle promo card has given Spellcasters a real boost. Check out what Mike thought about it today.
Tuesday features another installment in Jerome McHale’s “Almost There” deck building series. He takes a look at creating a strategy that uses what he considers the “king of all Dragon-types.” Which card does he mean? The answer might surprise you!
On Wednesday, I’ll take a look at one of my coolest fixer-uppers yet. Titled “Fate of a Gambler” by its creator, the deck uses a myriad of high-risk coin flip effects. With a little bit of old-school tech, I’ll try to turn a casual powerhouse into a tournament tour de force.
Head on over to Curtis Schultz’s Duelist Academy this Thursday for a lesson on Vehicroids! Syrus Truesdale’s monsters might be adorable, but there are also some rulings that can be invaluable for those who are looking to harness their strength. Can a face-down Gyroid survive an attack? When does Drillroid’s effect activate? Curtis answers these questions and many more.
Julia Hedberg will round out the week with an article detailing the handling of match slips. As simple as it may seem, this has been one of our most requested articles for a long time, and this Friday, Solid Ground delivers with a thorough investigation and explanation of the topic.
Breaking News: Brian Long Wins Shonen Jump Championship Boston!
The day’s competition has concluded, and Brian Long has just won Shonen Jump Championship Boston!
Representing Team Hunger Force, Long used a mix of innovative tech and aggressive play style to beat out Team Scoop’s Paul Levitin and then his own teammate Brent Yetter. In the finals, he faced Bryan Coronel, and thanks to some lucky draws and the skill to use them swiftly, he defeated Coronel 2-0. Congratulations to all the Top 8 players at Shonen Jump Championship Boston, and extra props to the newest Shonen Jump Champion, Brian Long!
That’s it for this week. Check back next Monday for another Seven Days of current events in the world of Yu-Gi-Oh!
