Pwnzor was crushed by an infinite-attack Mokey Mokey and beaten by Coco the monkey. He’s probably fled to a foreign country at this point—one without dueling, monkeys, or blue marshmallows with wings. What an unlucky guy. The past two Reader Challenges had little tricks that, once discovered, allowed a contestant to win the challenge. This week I want to take the contest in a different direction. As always, the winner will receive six booster packs for a job well done!
Here’s the scenario.
Reader Challenge 3: Lucky Thirteens
You have three turns to deal as much damage as possible to your opponent.
Your opening hand consists of the following cards:
Pot of Greed Graceful Charity One Spellcaster of your choice One Warrior of your choice One trap card of your choice
You will go first.
Each turn, your opponent will normal summon a Gearfried the Iron Knight. If you control no monsters, the opponent will attempt to attack you directly with each Gearfried in succession. If you control only face-down monsters, the opponent will attack them in an order of your choosing. If you control one or more face-up monsters in attack position, the opponent will attack them, provided they have less ATK than the Gearfried(s) attacking (total ATK, not printed ATK). If you control one or more face-up monsters in defense position, the opponent will attack them, provided they have less DEF than the attacking Gearfried(s) have ATK (total DEF, not printed DEF). The opponent will attack face-up attack position monsters first, then face-up defense position monsters, then face-down monsters.
This is all your opponent will do. You may not rely on the opponent’s deck containing particular cards. You can rely on the opponent making choices in your favor when confronted with them—i.e., you may choose what you get from Painful Choice or similar cards.
You may determine all draws you make as you choose, as well as the order and contents of your deck.
The catch? You may only summon up to thirteen times. You may only activate up to thirteen face-down spells from the field or from your hand (eight from your hand and five from your field are fine). You may only activate thirteen face-down traps from the field. You may only attack thirteen times.
You have only 8000 life points. Your opponent has an infinite amount.
The challenge ends once you enter your end phase of turn 3.
Limiter Removal and Mokey Mokey are banned.
The first person to submit the entry that deals the most damage to the opponent wins.
Let’s see how much damage you can do!
