Welcome to the Darkmoon Faire!
Metagame Staff

When you think of faires, do you think of rickety carnival rides, the sun beating on your sweaty brow, games that are more like magic tricks that make your dollars disappear, and indigestion from all the carnival treats full of sugar and starch? The Upper Deck does it better. This is the Darkmoon Faire. It’s more than just a faire and more than just a tournament. You’ve never been to an event like this.

Join the high-flying jet-set crowd on your journey to become the top World of Warcraft TCG or Minis player. The Darkmoon Faire courses the entire globe every year to bring you the best gaming experience on Earth. You get to travel to fantastic cities, win tons of prizes, pwn noobs on the computer LAN, check out the hottest new video games, and kick back with your best friends.

Whether you’re from the East Coast, the West Coast, the South, the Midwest, Europe, or even Australia, there’s a Darkmoon Faire coming to you. You won’t just meet all your local players—the Darkmoon Faire has a following to rival any music tour. Players from across the world follow the Faire to stops in hopes of winning what? Prizes! Each player earns a new Extended Art promo for just signing up to play in the main event! You can win another promo for making the Top 64 of the tournament, but it’s the Top 8 playoff where the prizes turn into something truly epic.

Each player throwing down on Sunday in the Darkmoon Faire Championship earns a Spectral Tiger loot card. It’s the biggest chase card in the game because it gives MMO players the slickest mount in the online video game, and it’s yours to sell, trade, or use! The rest of the prizes scale up to the top, with great gadgets like iPods and video game systems, and the winner can choose from not just one but three incredible options! Do you want to game on the fastest, most powerful laptop or desktop computer UDE can build? Do you want to blow people away with your new home theatre, including a Blu-Ray player, surround sound system, and flat screen TV? Or, are you up for following the faire free of charge? UDE will pay for your flight and hotel to any Darkmoon Faire in the world!

Remember, the Darkmoon Faire is more than just a tournament. If you’re there just to be part of the faire or you didn’t have the best luck in the tournament, there’s so much more in store for you. You can hang out in the player’s lounge, releasing your inner star with Rock Band and relaxing with some complimentary refreshments. How else would a VIP like you expect to be treated? You can play in side events or the Gadgetzan Challenge, which is a Sealed Deck tournament, so you don’t even have to own a single card to play in it! You can also check out the World of Warcraft online game at the LAN and compete in tournaments to win more loot cards—including more Spectral Tigers! Entry is only $5, and all proceeds go to the Child’s Play charity, gifting games to children’s hospitals all across the world.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a faire without games, but there are no balloons to pop or clown mouths to fill with water. Instead, you can spin the wheel to win some free product and exclusive Extended Art cards, or play some more traditional faire games. Each win nets you a Darkmoon Faire ticket that can be turned in for product, promos, or playmats!

The Darkmoon Faire selects each city it stops in based on its exciting city flavor and culture. In previous Darkmoon Faires, players have been able to walk 100 ft to the Space Needle in Seattle, head across the street to the market in Philadelphia, and hop a bus to see the Eiffel Tower in Paris, France. The Darkmoon Faire is more than just a gaming event—it’s a chance to see different areas of the United States and world! You can learn how to play through the online interactive demo and then check out the list of DMF stops this year.
