Denver Shonen Jump TCG Championship Series Tournament
Metagame Staff

It started as a quiet little tournament in Denver, but it ended as one of the most important events in the history of the Shonen Jumps!

Emon Ghaneian battled through two-time winner Ryan Hayakawa in the quarterfinals to have a shot at the Colorado star, Lindsey Mantos. Lindsey was plagued by bad draws for most of the match, and Emon was able to quickly make his way to the finals where he battled Andrew Novoa for the championship. Andrew seemed to be monster-deficient in games one and three, and Emon took full advantage of it to take him down and become the second person ever to win two Shonen Jump Championships.

With four Shonen Jump Top 8s and two wins, Emon Ghaneian is looking to break all the records in the book. Will he be able to do it? Only time will tell, but for now you can relive all the action from Denver right here on Metagame.com! Congratulations to Emon Ghaneian, Shonen Jump Denver Champion!

Day 2
It all came down to this. After taking down local superstar Lindsey Mantos, Emon was ready to take home another Shrink. Opposite him was Andrew Novoa from Team Junky Spot.
Before the match began, Emon wanted to let everyone know that he’s dedicating this Top 8 to Londie and Paco Monterroso. Without their generosity, he quite literally wouldn’t be here right now.
This is easily the most exciting match-up of any major event since Nationals. Emon Ghaneian and Ryan Hayakawa, two previous Shonen Jump champs, are clashing here in the quarterfinals for a chance at winning another championship.
Day 1
Check out the Top 8 decklists here!
Ryan Hayakawa is just one win away from making another Shonen Jump Top 8 showing. Making the cut today will give him an opportunity to break his own record of two Shonen Jump wins and claim a third.
I’ve been keeping track of Brandon’s performance throughout the event, as he’s playing an interesting Dark World build that takes advantage of Deck Devastation Virus in order to paralyze the slower control decks. He’s within two wins of being the first player to make it to Top 8 of a Shonen Jump Championship with a dedicated Dark World deck.
I’ve teamed up with the judges to circulate around the top tables and find the top pieces of tech from Denver, Colorado.
This match pitted the ever-popular Emon Ghaneian against the Team Dragon member James Brown III. Matt Laurents promised me that this would be a match to remember, and with both players sitting with one loss, one Top 8 Nationals competitor, and one player with a Dragon deck, I honestly couldn’t resist.
Dave Wilkinson is usually found judging all the premier events in Utah, but today he’s here and sitting pretty at 4-0 as a part of Team Netdeck.
This round's feature match brings together players from two of the biggest teams in the game.
This match brings together two friends who are also accomplished players. Both of them had gone undefeated in a prior regional, Tanner in the last regional and Lindsey in the regional before.
I took a look around the event to see what people were playing—and the results may surprise you.
Both players looked genuinely excited to be here and were eager to prove themselves to the dueling community.
I took a look at William Bardsley’s Macro Cosmos deck before the event, but I didn’t get a chance to see it in action. That’s about to change right now as these two previously unknown players face off in their first-ever Shonen Jump feature match.
Before I got on the plane to Denver, I made a list of things that I hoped to see here at today’s event. Round 1 hasn’t even begun, and I’ve already found one of them.
