Scrub Brush Challenge Anaheim — The Aftermath
Julia Hedberg

Well it’s time for the very best part of the Scrub Brush Challenge looking at the scrubs! Sadly, this time we didn’t have one single winner. But, that means more scrubbing for you, so let’s look on the sunny side, why not? I give you the Parade of Shame!

Kyle Gordon knew he was in for it by Round 4. Ah well! Nothing to do but take the scrubbing that’s coming to you.

Matthew Johnson knew his number was up fairly early on, too. But at least he gets one last picture up!

Most people came back mumbling about Cyber-Stein, but Michael Lux was quite firmly against Dark World.

Nothing like a brother when you’ve got to take a scrubbing Michael Highline braves the brush as wielded by his brother Matthew . . .

. . . only to have the favor returned!

Wilson Yu returns for a good scrubbing at the hands of Chris Moosman!

Wilson gets his revenge, and polishes off Chris!

It’s not about winning or losing. It’s the joy on the faces of your friends as they abrade off a few layers of skin, as Christopher Welch found out.

You win some, you scrub some . . . right, Ben Massey?

Well, we had some default scrubs, but unfortunately they’re about to turn the internet off and I have to get this sent in, so it looks like some of these guys are going to get away with it. I’ll get them next time, never fear!

Wondering where everyone ended up? Here’s a look at the final standings . . . these are with drops, so, bear in mind there was a bit of an early exodus from the tournament.

Morgan Adams finished 364th, with 2 wins. He dropped in round 5.

Anthony Alvarado finished 27th, with 8 wins. He came in second!

Waheed Ayobi finished 47th with 7 wins.

Grant Durtschi finished 114th, with 6 wins.

Emon Ghaneian finished 466th with 1 win. He dropped in round 3.

Kyle Gordon finished 393rd with 2 wins. He dropped in round 4.

Matthew Highline finished 526th with 1 win. He dropped in round 4.

Michael Highline finished 525th with 1 win. He dropped in round 5.

Matthew Johnson finished 581st with 0 wins. He dropped in round 4.

Michael Lux finished 299th with 3 wins. He dropped in round 5.

Ben Massey finished 532nd with 1 win. He dropped in round 4.

Chris Moosman finished 24th with 8 wins. He was the highest place finisher this weekend . . . Go Chris!

The Pina Brothers!!

Jorge Fabian Pina Lizarraga finished 55th with 7 wins. Did you recognize him as the Mexican National Champion from 2005?

Jesus Alberto Pina Lizarraga finished 501st, with 1 win. He dropped in round 4.

Sebastian Pina finished 200th, with 4 wins. He dropped in round 7.

Jeremy Rascon finished 108th, with 6 wins.

Christopher Welch finished 145th, with 5 wins. He dropped in round 8.

Wilson Yu finished 332nd, with 3 wins. He dropped in round 5.

And that, I believe, does it for Scrub Brush Challenge Anaheim. You’ll have to wait until San Jose to catch more of the thrills, the excitement, the drama and the heartbreak as 16 hopeful competitors try and avoid the Brush! See you then!
