It’s been a busy day! Nine rounds have been completed and 410 duelists have been cut to a final 8! The brand new Shonen Jump Championship promo has been announced as Des Volstgalph, one of Japan’s hottest cards. On top of that, several teams traded, acquired, or lost members over the course of the event. Bonds have been made, broken, strengthened, and weakened, but regardless of all the team news, the spotlight is now on eight individuals.
Canada’s Matt Peddle finished first and goes into Day 2 with the number one ranking for the Top 8! Juan Cardenas and Michael Fukuyama are also advancing, holding the fifth and second seeds respectively, in the name of Comic Odyssey. Cas Stomphorst will represent the Netherlands and has been rewarded for his long trip overseas with a seventh seed finish.
The other competitors include Jesse Twohig, Daryl Gessler, Chris Marck, and Nareg Torossian. Up against a field of well-recognized international veterans, these four will certainly have their work cut out for them, but success will gift them with sudden fame!
Shonen Jump Championship Indy will go down in history as an event that brought great change to the game. New and different teams, new personalities, fresh tech and play trends, and the retirement of Cyber-Stein have all gone a long way toward making this one of the most memorable Shonen Jump Championships of all time. Return tomorrow as Metagame.com brings you live coverage of the Top 8.
Now that we know what is taking Cyber-Stein’s place as the Shonen Jump Championship prize card, one question remains . . .
. . . Who will win Shonen Jump Championship Indy and the first copy of Des Volstgalph?
