It’s an all-Canadian feature match in round 3, as Jeff Jones takes on the lesser known of the Peddle brothers, Ryan (yes, I know Jeff Jones isn’t Canadian, but he’s always hanging around with them and he lives in Michigan. That’s good enough for me!).
Ryan won the virtual die roll. He started off with a set spell or trap and passed back to Jeff who used E — Emergency Call for Elemental Hero Stratos. Stratos fetched Elemental Hero Ocean but was blown up by Torrential Tribute. Jeff set a spell or trap and revealed it to be Trap Dustshoot in Peddle’s draw phase to rob him of his only monster, a Zaborg. The younger Peddle set a spell or trap, and another Emergency Call came down for Jeff to fetch Elemental Hero Wildheart. Wildheart connected for 1500, and Jeff set a spell or trap. Snatch Steal took Wildheart away from Jeff, and the hero turned on his owner for 1500 before play passed back to Jones. He summoned Elemental Hero Ocean and then flipped Call of the Haunted for Stratos. Ring of Destruction was chained to blow away Ocean, and Stratos came up to fetch another Ocean. Wildheart fell in battle and, in main phase two, Skyscraper 2 — Hero City hit the field and regenerated Wildheart.
Peddle set a pair of spell or traps and passed back to Jeff who used his third and final Emergency Call to get another Wildheart. Stratos fell to Sakuretsu Armor, but both Wildhearts hit directly. Ryan set two more spell or trap cards, and he blocked both of Jeff’s attacks on the next turn with Book of Moon and Enemy Controller. Elemental Hero Ocean came down in main phase two, and Peddle fought back with Brain Control, tributing a Wildheart for Mobius to destroy the field card and attacking Ocean. It was all for naught though as Jeff flipped up his Wildheart and activated R — Righteous Justice to take out Ryan’s set Mirror Force before following up with Snatch Steal for the win! Jeff Jones and his new Big City variant score a quick win in game 1!
Ryan started us off in game 2 as well, and he set a card to each zone. Jeff summoned Elemental Hero Wildheart and attacked into Gravekeeper’s Spy before activating Confiscation and revealing an all monster hand from Ryan. He chose to drop one of his two Banisher of the Radiance before setting a pair of back row cards and passing. In the draw phase, Ryan’s second Banisher was sent to the deck with Trap Dustshoot, but Jeff noted the Mobius that had just been drawn. Gravekeeper’s Spy was tributed for Cyber Dragon, and Peddle attacked Wildheart. Premature Burial brought him back next turn and R — Righteous Justice once again destroyed Mirror Force before Jeff set his last card and passed. Cyber Dragon destroyed the Hero again, and Peddle set his third Gravekeeper’s Spy. Jeff added another spell or trap to his back row, and Peddle passed his turn. Lightning Vortex cleared Ryan out with the exception of the set Spy and Jeff passed back. Trap Dustshoot stole a Thestalos from Ryan before he flipped his Spy and attacked. Skyscraper 2 — Hero City came down for Jeff next turn to bring back Wildheart and attack the Spy. Peddle set a monster, and Jeff activated E — Emergency Call to bring out Stratos which allowed him to search for Ocean. Skyscraper 2 brought back the second Wildheart and Jeff attacked into a set Spirit Reaper. Peddle set a spell or trap and passed back to Jeff who summoned his Ocean. Peddle passed, and Jeff used Ocean to bring Stratos to his hand and replayed him to wipe Peddle’s backfield.
Peddle chained Book of Moon to flip down Stratos, but didn’t use Torrential Tribute. Jeff passed back and Peddle set a spell or trap. In the next turn, Lightning Vortex blew away Spirit Reaper, and Jeff attacked for 6300! Peddle was left with only 1400 life points, and he set a card to each zone before passing. It didn’t matter though, as one more Ocean effect let Stratos blow everything away again, and Jeff punched through with his Wildhearts for the win!
