Alejandro Reyes is the reigning Mexican National Champion. He wanted to give a shout out to all his friends in Mexico, Chile, and Argentina.
Arriaga is on Team Nightmare and wanted to give a shout out to all of his teammates. He was very excited to be here and it showed. Also one more shout out to John Umali for letting him borrow a Mind Control.
Reyes rolled a 6 and Arriaga rolled a 4. Reyes would start this match. Reyes summoned Diamond Dude, used the effect, missed, revealing Phoenix Wing Wind Blast, set a spell or trap, and ended.
 Arriaga opened with Prometheus, King of the Shadows, Krebons, Heavy Storm, Lightning Vortex, Brain Control, and Emergency Teleport. He activated Brain Control, targeting Diamond Dude and dropping to 7200, used the effect, and hit Monster Reborn. Arriaga summoned Krebons and it was met by a Phoenix Wing Wind Blast discarding Destiny Hero - Malicious. Emergency Teleport got Krebons from the deck and he Synchro summoned for Goyo Guardian and attacked for 2800. The duel stood at 7200 to 5200 with Arriaga in the lead. Arriaga set Heavy Storm and ended.
Reyes removed Malicious, chained Emergency Teleport for Krebons, and brought out Malicious to the field in attack mode. He Synchro summoned for Colossal Fighter and attacked into Goyo Guardian for 200 damage. There were now 3 Warriors in the graveyard. Heavy Storm came down to destroy the set Heavy Storm of Arriaga. Arriaga summoned Elemental Hero Stratos, searched out Destiny Hero - Doom Lord, and brought out another Malicious in defense.
Arriaga drew Malicious and discarded him for Lightning Vortex. Crush Card Virus was chained by Reyes and he didn’t lose anything in hand from Crush and all his monsters were gone; the field was bare. Arriaga removed Malicious from play and special summoned him in attack mode. He used the Monster Reborn from Diamond Dude to special summon Colossal Fighter, summoned Prometheus, and used his effect to attack for game!
Martin Arriaga gets out of a bad opening hand to win the duel! Both duelists sided, and Arriaga was one game from the finals!
Reyes opened game 2 with a set spell or trap and ended. Arriaga opened with Destiny Hero – Malicious, two Reinforcement of the Army, Mind Control, Threatening Roar, and Emergency Teleport. He activated Reinforcement of the Army searching for Elemental Hero Stratos and summoned him to search for Destiny Hero - Diamond Dude. Stratos attacked direct for 1800 and it was now 8000 to 6200. Arriaga set Threatening Roar and Emergency Teleport
Allure came down, Reyes drew 2 and removed Dark Armed Dragon. Reinforcement of the Army was played for a Stratos of his own netting him a Destiny Hero - Malicious. He activated Destiny Draw discarding Malicious and drew two more. He activated Allure of Darkness and removed Necro Gardna after drawing two cards. “Cards?” Arriaga had 4 in hand. Heavy Storm came down from Reyes and Arriaga chained Threatening Roar and Emergency Teleport for Krebons in attack mode. Reyes lost Mirror Force. He set two cards to his back row and ended.
Arriaga drew into Prometheus, King of Shadows. He activated Reinforcement of the Army and got a Dark Grepher. He special summoned Grepher by discarding Destiny Hero - Malicious. He discarded Prometheus to send Plaguespreader Zombie to the graveyard. “You have 3 cards in hand?” and Reyes verified that. He put Mind Control on the top of his deck to special summon Plaguespreader Zombie and Synchro summon for Goyo Guardian. Goyo Guardian attacked Stratos and it was met by a Phoenix Wing Wind Blast with Reyes discarding Malicious. Stratos took down the other. In main phase 2, Arriaga summoned Destiny Hero - Diamond Dude and used the effect and Reyes chained Torrential Tribute; Diamond Dude flipped over Mind Control and Arriaga was out of cards. Arriaga special summoned Malicious in defense mode and ended his turn with the lone Malicious.
Reyes drew to three cards, set one to his back row, and ended. Arriaga drew Dark Armed Dragon. Arriaga removed Prometheus to destroy the set Phoenix Wing Wind Blast. They both attacked direct and the duel stood at 8000 to 2600 with Arriaga way ahead. Brain Control came down for Reyes who took control of Dark Armed Dragon, attacked Malicious for 2000 damage, removed Malicious to destroy Dark Armed Dragon, set a spell or trap, and ended.
Arriaga drew Lightning Vortex, removed Malicious to special summon another in attack mode and put Reyes to 1000 life points. Reyes drew, removed Malicious to special summon one in attack mode and attacked the Malicious into each other. He set a monster and ended.
Arriaga drew Crush Card Virus and ended. Reyes drew to two in hand, flipped Sangan and attacked for 1000. Arriaga drew Reinforcement of the Army and got Destiny Hero - Diamond Dude. Arriaga summoned Destiny Hero - Diamond Dude, used the effect, and missed, revealing Threatening Roar. Arriaga activated Lightning Vortex discarding Crush Card Virus. Sangan got a Destiny Hero - Doom Lord with the effect and Reyes activated Return from the Different Dimension! He paid himself down to 500 to save himself!
Reyes drew to 4, and used Reinforcement of the Army to search out Armageddon Knight to send Plaguespreader Zombie to the graveyard. He put a card to the top of the deck and special summoned Plague to Synchro for Goyo Guardian. He attacked for 1400 and then used the Diamond Dude’s effect when he was special summoned to his field and revealed Destiny Draw!
Arriaga blindly activated Allure of Darkness, drew Destiny Draw and Doom Lord, removed Doom Lord, set a bluff, and ended.
 Reyes used the free Destiny Draw, used Teleport to bring out Krebons from the deck, and Synchro summoned for Stardust Dragon. Destiny Draw came down and discarded Doom Lord. He summoned Krebons and all attacked for game.
Reyes comes back with his back against the wall thanks to Return from a Different Dimension to send this match to game 3!
Arriaga started this one opening with Lighting Vortex, Giant Trunade, Emergency Teleport, Dark Armed Dragon, Destiny Draw, and Allure of Darkness. Arriaga used Allure of Darkness netting him Elemental Hero Stratos and Allure of Darkness, removing Dark Armed Dragon. Stratos was summoned and got Malicious for Arriaga. He drew two Reinforcement of the Army from Destiny Draw discarding Malicious. Reinforcement of the Army came down to search out Diamond Dude. Allure of Darkness came down and got him Heavy Storm and Reinforcement of the Army. He removed Diamond Dude. He set Emergency Teleport and ended.
Reyes started with Allure of Darkness and removed Krebons. He played Destiny Draw discarding Destiny Hero - Doom Lord. Reyes set a monster and one back row. Arriaga drew into Threatening Roar. Arriaga activated Heavy Storm and Reyes chained Crush Card Virus tributing Necro Gardna. There was a bit of discussion and Arriaga didn’t chain Emergency Teleport when Crush Card Virus was activated so he couldn’t get the effect and lost the Teleport! Reinforcement of the Army came down and searched out for Destiny Hero - Diamond Dude. He summoned him and used the effect to reveal Emergency Teleport. Diamond Dude attacked direct. He set a spell or trap and ended.
Reyes summoned Elemental Hero Stratos and searched out Destiny Hero – Malicious. At the end of main phase 1, Arriaga played Threatening Roar. Arriaga drew Destiny Hero - Malicious. Reinforcement of the Army got him Dark Grepher. Diamond Dude’s effect went off and revealed a Threatening Roar. Arriaga activated Giant Trunade and normal summoned Dark Grepher, sending Malicious to the grave to send Plaguespreader Zombie to the graveyard as well with his effect. Arriaga removed Destiny Hero – Malicious to special summon another in attack mode. Arriaga put Lightning Vortex to the top of his deck to special summon Plaguespreader Zombie. He Synchro summoned for Goyo Guardian and its attack was negated by Necro Gardna.
Reyes drew to 6 in hand and activated Emergency Teleport, getting out Krebons. He Synchro summoned for Goyo Guardian. Goyo attacked Diamond Dude and used the effect to reveal Heavy Storm. Reyes summoned Krebons in Main Phase 2 and Synchro summoned for another Goyo Guardian. He special Summoned Dark Armed Dragon and Arriaga conceded knowing he was going to draw Lighting Vortex.
