Chicago Shonen Jump TCG Championship Series Tournament

It’s all over, and Dale Bellido of Team Superfriends has emerged victorious! He fought his way through a field of 388 other players during the first day, and things only got harder come the second. He took down Brice Thompson in the quarterfinals, only to be met by consistent high finisher Paul Levitin in his semifinal match! Excellent playing allowed him to maneuver all the way to the finals, where he put away Carlos Santiago, the last remnant of Team Scoopforce, to take home the Des Volstgalph.

This was certainly one action-packed weekend, as war for the hand was waged on the field by multitudes of Cyber Dragons, Spirit Reapers, and Don Zaloogs. Warrior-Toolbox and Cyber Dragon/Beatdown put up a great fight, but in the end they fell to Scoopforce’s Heavy Removal deck and Dale’s Tomato Control. Soul Control made it to the Top 8, but it faltered once again, failing to advance beyond the Quarterfinal rounds. Was this win a one-hit wonder by Tomato Control? Or will it continue to be a major force in the new format? Time will tell, but until then, from everyone at Metagame.com, congratulations to Dale Bellido, Shonen Jump Chicago Champion!

It’s all come down to this: Scoopforce versus Superfriends in the finals.
Both teams are looking to put both of their members into the finals, so this may be the most important match of Day 2.
This match was sure to be a good one, as top members from the two best teams on the East Coast faced off in the quarterfinal round.
Day 1
Check out the Top 8 decklists right here!
This match will likely determine who gets into the Top 8 tomorrow, and who sits it out in the side events.
Going into round 8, both of these players are 6-1 and need this match to stay alive.
At the start of round 7, four out of the six undefeated players were from Team Superfriends.
These two are fighting to keep their Top 8 hopes alive.
The two players anxiously waited for the official start of the round, and when the bell rang they came out of their corners fighting.
Every Shonen Jump Championship brings some kind of change to the game.
David didn’t seem particularly confident about his chances to win the match, but with back to back Regional Top 4 finishes under his belt, anything was possible.
After two rounds, Dale is 2-0, so I think that now would be a good time to take a look at the new face of Tomato Control.
It takes a lot of determination, planning, and money to maintain a team.
