Both players came into the game with six wins, two short of making the Top 8. They would have to meet that quota within the next three rounds.

Bernie won the die roll and chose the odd initiatives.

Turn 1:

Bernie recruited Lana Lang, Manhunter Sleeper in the concealed area. Lana would proceed to put one card from the top of Woi Lun’s deck into the KO’d pile every turn up until turn 6.

Turn 2:

Woi Lun got Gnaxos, and Bernie recruited Manhunter Infiltrator in the concealed area.

Turn 3:

Bernie recruited Manhunter Guardsman, and Woi Lun played Slipstream in the concealed area.

Manhunter Guardsman bashed Gnaxos down without stunning, forcing Woi Lun to Banish the Guardsman to the Anti-Matter Universe to clear the way for Slipstream to directly attack Bernie. All of Bernie’s characters finished the turn in the conceal area.

Turn 4:

Woi Lun recruited Frostbite in the visible area behind Gnaxos, and Bernie played Mouse Trap in the visible area. Woi Lun stared at the wall that was in the way of his attacking efforts and lamented his decision to use Banished to the Anti-Matter Universe on Manhunter Guardsman in the earlier turn.

Woi Lun declared Frostbite and Slipstream on Mouse Trap and flipped Cosmic Conflict, bringing Slipstream into the visible area. However, Bernie had the Pest Control to pump Mouse Trap’s DEF to 16.

Given the initiative, Bernie stunned Gnaxos with Manhunter Infiltrator and let the Guardsman loose on Woi Lun.

Woi Lun lost Gnaxos.

Turn 5:

Bernie got John Stewart behind Mouse Trap, while Woi Lun had Element Man in the concealed area.

The Infiltrator tried for Slipstream, but Woi Lun flipped Fire Support to give his character +1 DEF. However, Bernie flipped Locked in Combat. Woi Lun then brought Element Man into the visible area and hoped to replace into an answer. Slipstream stunned, nonetheless.

John Stewart then swung into Element Man, who got contaminated by Yellow Impurity for the double stun.

Bernie exhausted the Guardsman for Apokoliptian Hospitality on Element Man, while Woi Lun used Frostbite’s ability on John Stewart before Slipstream and Manhunter Infiltrator went to the KO’d pile.

(28 – 31)

Turn 6:

Woi Lun under-dropped with Power Ring, and Bernie played Rocket Red, who consumed Manhunter Guardsman and Lana Lang.

Power Ring and Slipstream attacked Rocket Red, and Rocket stunned together with Power Ring.

Both players passed on further attacks.

Woi Lun activated Frostbite’s ability on Rocket Red and lost Power Ring.

(23 – 26)

Turn 7:

Bernie recruited Krona behind Mouse Trap, and Woi Lun played Ultraman in the hidden area. Element Man stood in the support row with Slipstream in front and Frostbite beside him.

John hit Frostbite and stunned her, whilst Krona gunned for Slipstream, who was reinforced by Element Man before being stunned. Ultraman attacked John Stewart, and Bernie played Catcher’s Mitt on John to save himself some endurance loss before allowing him to stun.

Turn 8:

Woi Lun had Azrael Batman, and Bernie had Supermanhunter and Sleeper Agent. Azrael attacked Rocket Red, hoping to pull ahead in the endurance race, but Bernie played Manhunter Transphere for a double stun.

Frostbite and Element Man team attacked Supermanhunter, and Bernie opted to stun Element Man. Ultraman then swung into Sleeper Agent for some massive breakthrough endurance loss. Bernie went down to -8.

Bernie had Krona left standing when the initiative passed to him, and he swung into Frostbite to bring Woi Lun down to -9.
