"They did it!" Dave Spears and his opponent Alex Gellerman are two personalities from our beloved VS Realms. Dave won the roll and took the even initiatives.

Turn 1: Neither player recruited anything.

Turn 2: Dave played Sage, Tessa while Gellerman recruited Tar Baby. Dave discarded a second Sage to draw two cards, and after some thought discarded a Sunder. Sage attacked Tar Baby and endurance stood at 48 even.

Turn 3: Gellerman recruited Senyaka while Dave played Mastermind, dark dreamer. Senyaka attacked Mastermind and Tar Baby got down and dirty directly. Dave decided to not attack with Sage to force the double stun, leaving his endurance at 41. Alex sat at 45.

Turn 4: Dave discarded Destiny, Freedom force to draw two cards, and he recruited Empath. Alex played Doctor Druid and put Senyaka in the support row to protect the evil doctor. Tar baby chilled on the side waiting to evade. Empath attacked into the Doctor with the help of Phase Shift. Alter Density gave the Doctor a defensive boost and Dave was forced to play Homo Superior to force the stun. Mastermind attacked Senyaka and Sage tried to attack Tar Baby. Gallerman sat thinking on his chair, and finally decided to evade. Dave got to attack directly for another 3 endurance.

Turn 5: Gallerman played Sabretooth, Savage Killer and Amelia Voght for free. Dave cringed! His Sage was still hanging around in the hidden area. Those extra cards cost Dave a lot of endurance on that critical turn 5. Dave opted not to play Feral since Sabretooth was in play, so he played Shinobi Shaw in the visible area. Alex's formation had Dr. Druid in the middle with Tar Baby and Sabretooth adjacent to it. Alex paid 2 endurance points to use Sabretooth to attack Sage with Tar Baby. Dave was ready with Alter Density to make the two characters bounce off each other. Dr. Druid attacked Empath and got powered up. Dave reinforced with Shinobi Shaw and KO'd it to flip down Alter Density. Sabretooth attacked Sage, bringing the Dave’s endurance to 17 while Alex sat at 25. Amelia Voght had no good attacks and had to stand back.

Turn 6: Dave played Piper while Alex recruited Harry Delgado. Piper attacked Sabrettoth and Alex played Pack Tactics. Before he passed he used Sabretooth power to target Harry. Dave played Brave New World, teaming up Morlocks and Hellfire so he could play Super Hero Showdown on Piper to save him from stunning. Sage, Tessa traded with Tar Baby. Shinoby Shaw then attacked Amelia, bringing Gallerman down to 8 endurance. Gallerman cracked back into Piper with Harry Delgado and Dave still had Alter Density, which he had turned face down last turn. Alex had a power-up ready, but Dave had the The Forsaken to give Piper +1 DEF. After Gallerman passed Dave also had Retribution to stonewall poor Alex. Alex’s Sabretooth got Pipered. Endurance stood with Alex at a measly 2 and Dave at 15.

Turn 7: Gallerman played Exodus and put all of his characters in the front row. Dave thought for a while about whether he should under-drop and eventually decided to play Emma Frost, White Queen. Dave's formation had Sabretooth in front of Emma, with Shinobi to the left of Emma and Piper to the right. Harry attacked Sabretooth, bringing Dave's endurance lower. Alex then used Harry's ability to target Shinoby Shaw. Exodus tried to attack it, but Dave used Emma's power to send Shinoby Shaw into the darkness. Exodus tried to attack again into Piper, but he also got sent to the Darkness. Finally, the only attack Exodus had was to attack into Emma, but Dave was ready with another Alter Density to stonewall poor Alex again.

Alex extended his hand. Poor Alex now sat at 5-4 when he started the tournament 5-0. Dave still has some hope for a 3-0 today and maybe a spot in the Top 8!
