The Sentry™
Card# MTU-017
While his stats aren’t much bigger than those of the average 7-drop, Sentry’s “Pay ATK” power can drastically hinder an opponent’s attacking options in the late game.

Round 8: Top Table Archetype Round-up |

This is what the matchups at the top tables looked like as of round 8:
Table 1: Light Show vs. Light Show Table 2: Teen Titans vs. Curve Sentinels Table 3: Curve Sentinels vs. Light Show Table 4: Curve Sentinels vs. Light Show Table 5: Teen Titans vs. Kiwi Table 6: Teen Titans vs. Kiwi Table 7: Kiwi vs. Kiwi Table 8: Curve Sentinels vs. Teen Titans Table 9: Curve Sentinels vs. Gamma Doom
Looking at the metagame breakdown from earlier, you can see that four of the seven Teen Titans decks have given themselves a chance at the elimination rounds, five of twenty Curve Sentinels are still present, four of the Green Lantern decks are hanging around, and four of the fifteen Light Shows are either in or have to win one more round to get there. In short, there are absolutely no surprises right now outside of the lone Gamma Doom deck facing off against Dave Spears. There will be at least two Light Shows in the Top 8, but every other archetype listed is still in flux, meaning they need at least one more win to guarantee that they’ll be invited back to play tomorrow.
It’s interesting to note that there was little real innovation at this tournament, while Philadelphia, held earlier this month, was where the format exploded. At least in Charlotte, the following axiom is holding true—good players don’t necessarily netdeck in Vs. because they are lazy, they netdeck because those are the only decks that are good enough to win. |
