David Brucker is one of the best gamers in the world. He’s had a wonderful career in the Other GamesÔ, and he is considered by many players to be a tier one gamer. In the last year, he has decided to apply his skills to Vs. System. A mere two weeks after he was taught the game, he placed in the top 20 at $10k Vienna.
David is a member of a testing squad that includes Reinhard Blech, Khristian Kockott, Marcus Kolb, and the unstoppable Hans Joachim Hoh, all of whom are doing well in the PC. David had a rather lackluster performance in the PC yesterday and decided that he needed to make a few changes to his deck. He decided that he didn’t like Ch’p, Remoni-Notra ◊ Star Sapphire, Chopping Block, and Lanterns In Love. He said, “I always found myself wanting to underdrop on turn 4 and usually on turn 5, too.” He mentioned that he added Krona to his deck to help deal with the Qward and Superman Robots decks: “The games just kept going to turn 7, and Krona is really good on turn 7.” He’s already played against two Superman Robots decks today and is currently 2-0 against them. His other additions to the deck include Salakk and Rot Lop Fan.
It appears that things are going a bit better for David today, as he is sitting pretty with an undefeated record. All it took was a quick change to his deck, a good night’s sleep, and a tremendous amount of focus to turn things around. I am sure that his success will continue, as he truly is a world-class player who will continue to refine his game. Besides, with the crew of players he has surrounding him, the only place his game can go is up.
