The Sentry™
Card# MTU-017

While his stats aren’t much bigger than those of the average 7-drop, Sentry’s “Pay ATK” power can drastically hinder an opponent’s attacking options in the late game.

The Vs. community was buzzing all day, but it was simply not to be. Despite the collective community’s efforts in cheering on Jason Scudder as the savior from the purple and green menace, his anti-Sentinels deck got one bad draw too many. David Bauer claimed another $10K Championship in the name of Sentinels, but not before Scudder showed the world that there is an answer for this metagame by clearing through two Sentinels decks en route to the finals. He may not have taken home the trophy, but Scudder has ensured that Bastions the world over will toss and turn in their sleep, fearing Spider-Man, The Amazing Spider-Man.

Of course, we should not look past Bauer’s performance. This was his second visit to the final table of a $10K, but unlike in Orlando, here he was able to win the final match and walk away with the trophy.

Next up? Pro Circuit Gen Con Indy! Players will trade in their Golden Age standby archetypes for brand new DC Modern Age decks. In addition, Indy will feature the debut of the Scholarship Series, as well as a $10K tournament. Be sure to visit Metagame.com in two weeks for coverage of all these tournaments!

Day 2
David Bauer has found his way once again to the finals of a $10K, once again riding the backs of those Robots that never seem to go away. “I’ve already gotten second once. You know how good second is? Let me tell you. It sucks.”
Bauer came in second at $10K Orlando. With a win in this match, he’ll revisit the finals and have another opportunity to come home with a championship trophy.
This match has the unbridled originality of Jason Scudder’s Spider-Friends/Gotham Knights monstrosity, as well as the beginning of Ben Stoll’s renewed rise to the upper echelons of the Vs. community.
In a sea of Sentinels, Jason Scudder is a light of hope at the end of a long, purple tunnel. He has piloted his very original Spider Friends/Gotham Knights through a sea of curve Sentinels to make the Top 8 here today.
Without a doubt, the story of the weekend is couple Daniella Grijalva and David Frayer both making Top 8 in a field of 171.

This round features two players “on the bubble,” a mere one match away from the final verdict. Who will make the Top 8? Who will be around to play tomorrow? Why am I here instead of eating? Only time will tell.
Both of these players came into this round with 8-1 records, and will need one more win to essentially clinch a spot on Sunday.
Simply refusing to go away, half of the top five tables were made up of Sentinels, those lovable little scamps.
Both of these players came into this round with records of 6-1, and if history is any indication, they should continue their success through tomorrow.
You can't see her. She's invisible.
Ben pointed out that it’s harder to do well in these tournaments now, noting, “The competition gets better every week.”
Christian is new to the feature match area, and as he sat down, he made me promise to let him say hi to his friend Paul. “Hi, Paul.” Crisis averted.
We’re always curious to see players’ impressions of the fruits of our labor, so I went around to ask some of the pros around here what they thought of the newest addition to the Vs. System family.
Tim Batow has had a great deal of Vs. System success, with a $10K Las Vegas championship trophy on his mantle and numerous Top 8 finishes on the circuit.
As I was looking through the decklists, I was really hoping something would catch my eye. Lucky for me, I found a deck that stood out like a broken thumb.
The results are in, and once again, Curve Sentinels and Teen Titans are kings of the hill by a wide margin. The interesting thing, though, is the wide variety that pops up just below them.
Bulk Lao is one of the top Sealed Pack players in the world and has a $10K Top 8 credit to his name, as well as an interesting story about his weekend thus far.
