Welcome back!
This week I want to tell you about some of the products that we have coming up throughout 2007. I don’t want to spoil everything, so I’m not going to give you too many details at this point, but I do want to at least give you an idea of what we have planned. Let’s jump right in!
Hellboy Essential Collection
Look for Hellboy and the rest of the B.P.R.D. to hit gaming shops in just a few weeks. Keep your eye out for one of those Hellboy lithographs signed by Mike Mignola!
Marvel Team-Up (2/07)
The big news here is the return of Spider-Man. In addition to Spidey, look for tons of his friends such as the Punisher, Hulk, Daredevil, and Dr. Strange—and that’s just the good guys! Players will also get the chance to explore what it means to have a team affiliation, with many characters crossing over to teams featured in this and past Vs. System expansions.
World’s Finest (6/07)
Batman and Superman are both featured in this set, along with their respective teams Gotham Knights and Team Superman. We also get the debut of two new teams, the Outsiders and Birds of Prey! The Joker and his fellow Arkham Inmates will also be back and eager to spread some insanity throughout the game. In fact, I think TBS put it perfectly when he said, “. . .you will have to be insane to play them.”
Marvel Legends (8/07)
Legends assemble! You can expect many of your favorite teams to return in this set, including the X-Men, Fantastic Four, and Brotherhood. Not only will Marvel Legends highlight some of the biggest teams in the game, it will also feature some of the biggest characters this side of the comic world. Marvel Legends should provide a strong base for both new and current players.
DC Comics Legends (11/07)
Not to be upstaged by their Marvel counterparts, the heavy hitters of the DC Universe come out in force in DC Legends. You can look forward to the JLA, the Flash, Superman, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman, Martian Manhunter, Batman, and Aquaman (just to name a few)! Once again, this set will provide a solid foundation for deckbuilders new and old.
As you can see, we have a pretty nice lineup for 2007 and this is just a list of our expansion sets. There are a few more things in the works that I’m not quite ready to tell you about just yet, but rest assured that all of you will be the first to know!
Lastly, David Humpherys will soon make an announcement on Metagame.com regarding the status of the banned list. That’s all the information I have right now, but as always, be assured that R&D is listening to player feedback and incorporating it into this process.
Okay, before I sign off I just have to tell you I was blown away when I saw the new Fantastic Four movie trailer. I’ve been going around the office all day asking people if they’ve seen it.
