DC wins! DC wins! Thank God almighty, DC wins! That was the cheer heard from the DC players as their champion Alex Tennet and his The Brave and the Bold deck knocked out Marvel champion Michael Dalton's Curve Sentinels in three tense games. Tennet got to that point by defeating Gabe Alonso in the semifinals of the DC bracket and then receiving a bye into the bonus round because other finalist Tim Batow needed to catch his flight. On the other half of the bracket, Michael Dalton was busy beating Russell Pippin to set up this historic matchup. Tennet and Dalton split the first two games of the finals, and things looked to be going Dalton's way in the rubber game, until Tennet played Dynamic Duo and an astounding four Teen Titans Go! in the final turn to guarantee an extra five thousand dollars for his side of the bracket, making the first Marvel vs. DC $10K event into a $15K.  Congratulations to Alex Tennet and all of the outstanding players who participated in $10K: Los Angeles!

Both players have technically won their tournaments already, but now they are primed for the bonus round. Dalton and his Curve Sentinels deck took home the title in the Marvel side of the $10K, while Alex Tennet received a bye into the finals of the tournament when Tim Batow had to leave to catch his flight.
See which decks did well in each side of the bracket!
Tim Batow is an eighteen year-old High School student from Tulsa, Oklahoma and is currently the number one seed in the DC event. His League of Assassins deck has gone undefeated on the day so far.

Both players said they were on this side of the bracket because they made an assumption that there would be considerably fewer competitors for DC than for Marvel, thus giving them a better chance to make money in the event.
Robert Gallagher is an independent businessman from Bakersfield, CA who says that “he plays cards a lot.” Meaghan Hoffman is a full-time parent from Rochester, NY who is raising twins. Both players played in the main event yesterday, but neither posted strong enough results to make it to the draft tables.
