Godinez won initiative, and both players kept their hands. Turn 1 opened with 1-drops both ways: Boris and Destiny. To Godinez’s surprise, Destiny pounded home a Mega-Blast for a quick 4 endurance loss.

“Pretty good shot for a blind woman.”

Turn 2 saw Toad and She-Thing hit the field. Destiny foretold the demise of She-Thing and Toad attempted to make it happen, but was rejected by an Acrobatic Dodge. Godinez took a good amount of time carefully thinking out his next move. He eventually settled on recruiting She-Hulk, Jennifer Walters. Luna quickly recruited Avalanche. She-Thing stunned him and She-Hulk took out Toad. Toad was left on the field for recovery instead of being bounced back.

Turn 4 heralded the arrival of some good luck for Luna, as he recruited Sabretooth, Feral Rage. Godinez cut the possible offense short though, recruiting Dr. Doom, Diabolic Genius and chaining to his effect with a set Mystical Paralysis to exhaust the Sabretooth. Luna didn’t have much of an offense left. She-Thing got marked by Destiny and Toad went after her, only to be Reign of Terrored back to Luna’s hand. She-Hulk then smacked around Destiny.

“Bet she didn’t see that one coming…” Blind-woman jokes abounded.

Godinez recruited Thing, Heavy Hitter to open turn 5. Luna activated Genosha and recruited Toad and Quicksilver. She-Hulk stunned Toad, She-Thing stunned Destiny, Dr. Doom stunned Quicksilver, and Thing stunned Sabretooth, who was the only character left on Luna’s side of the field by the time turn 6 rolled around.

Luna played a second Genosha and recruited Quicksilver, Speed Demon. He pushed both Sabretooth and Quicksilver to the front row. It was Godinez’s turn to recruit, and he Signal Flared for Hulk, recruiting him to the front. Quicksilver stunned She-Hulk and Luna used Mystical Paralysis on Sabretooth to take the initiative. Thing, boosted by an It’s Clobberin’ Time!, stunned Sabretooth. That was enough for Luna, who conceded.
