Sealed Pack & Silver Age Interview

The man of Ten Teams fame, Kakarot comes in today as the local Adelaide Vs. System champ. His Ten Teams deck, which is hailed as a more consistent build of 'A Child Named Valeria', saw him reach Top 8 at the recent Brisbane $10K, and run a tight second place against arch-rival Teen Titans at the Sydney $10K earlier in the year. Kakarot is one of those players that has been around for long enough and has claimed enough high-level placings that it seems only a matter of time before he takes out the number one spot.

What card do you most want to crack in sealed today?

Join Us or Die, and to be able to deck it because I also crack the mad support.

Is there any card you can build a deck around in Crisis Sealed Pack?

Join Us or Die, Michael Holt ◊ Mr. Terrific with T-Spheres, The Calculator, Crime Broker, Fate Has Spoken, and Abjuration with The Conclave.

What do you think is the best archetype / overall strategy in Crisis Sealed pack?

Large bodies that lead to an alternate win condition, making Villains United / Checkmate the best deck in my opinion. Knight Armor (often with Dr. Fate's Tower) protects, with oversized defense, and Traitor to the Cause allows you to stun concealed guys like Deadshot, Dead Aim to recover your big guys. You almost always wind up at turn 7 with The Calculator. Rook Control is often huge in this kind of build too, to allow you to move guys around pretty easily.

What's the most underrated card in Sealed Pack?

Probably Join Us or Die.

Who is going to win today?

I'd be much happier having that kind of knowledge than winning this event, but Shaun Hayward, myself, or Alex Antonios for a random guess.

What's the most busted card in Vs. System at the moment?

I suppose Enemy of My Enemy overall, but it doesn't inherently possess the qualities of a "broken" card. It just adds consistency where UDE deemed (and most agreed) it was necessary.

What are your impressions of Silver Age so far?

Great format. Justice League of Arkham was great to have around, and Herald of Galactus with the 1st rotation will make Silver Age a very live format.

What's the best card in Silver Age?

Enemy of My Enemy . . . I do hate saying it though.
