In a brand new metagame, one of the most exciting things I’d like to know is which decks did well. With a little bit of research, I was able to work out the breakdowns.
Pro Circuit San Francisco decks that went 7-3 or better and how many were played:
Killing Joke – 10
Good Guys – 9
Fate Artifact – 7 (including Fate Squad)
Squadron – 7
Checkmate – 4
G’Lock – 2
Energy burn – 2
Villains United – 1
Injustice Gang hand flood – 1
Avengers reservist – 1
Light and Chimp Show - 1
Total – 45
For those who would like even more detail, here is the breakdown by player:

Particularly interesting is Scott Hunstad’s Villains United / Underworld deck, which was designed by the Aussies to combat most situations with a plethora of search cards like Baddest of the Bad, Enemy of My Enemy, and The Science Spire. deck handled rush decks via the ingenious use of the much maligned Marvel Knights plot twist Advance Recon, which often gained them 20+ endurance!
Another interesting deck was played by sometime Vs. judge Edoardo Dalla Via, who played what we have dubbed the “Light and Chimp Show.” Apart from four of the aforementioned characters, it has twenty different one-ofs that he teams up via the amazing talking chimpanzee. The best part of the deck, though, is the fact that it plays Kandor and The Kent Farm, two cards that many previously dismissed as not tournament viable but that work wonders with the magic of Bobo to finish off an unwary opponent.
But now the players need to turn their skills to Draft; playing thirty-card decks can be troublesome for even the most seasoned Constructed player.
