The Sentry™
Card# MTU-017

While his stats aren’t much bigger than those of the average 7-drop, Sentry’s “Pay ATK” power can drastically hinder an opponent’s attacking options in the late game.

$10K San Diego
Metagame Staff

Adam Prosak is the $10K San Diego champion! One of the game’s most consistent players finally won his first $10K Championship after four previous Top 8 appearances. Adam was able to pilot his Teen Titans deck through two mirror matches, and then finally defeated his good friend Scot Anderson’s Curve Sentinel deck en route to a convincing victory in the first major Golden Age tournament after the Overload banning and Rama-Tut errata.

While innovation was prevalent at this tournament, one thing is for certain—anyone who wants to compete in the Golden Age format will have to be able to tackle the combination of Teen Titans and Curve Sentinels, both of which dominated the tournament. While many rogue decks came very close to making the Top 8, the success of Teen Titans and Curve Sentinels in this tournament will set the benchmark for the metagame in the ensuing weeks and months. Congratulations to $10K San Diego winner Adam Prosak!

As a side note, check out the Top 8 of the Green Lantern Sealed PCQ, held on Day 2 of the $10K. Not too shabby for a PCQ!

It would have been hard to script a better final than this one that features five-time $10K Top 8 finisher Adam Prosak against pastor Scot Anderson, who’s missing church today for his shot at TCG glory.
Two more mirror matches meant that it would be kid heroes taking on purple robots again in the finals—all that remains to be seen is who will be at the helm of each.
Steven Levesque and Scot Anderson are both playing in their first $10K Top 8s, and have made it through to the semifinals here in San Diego.
This Top 8 match featured young phenom Brandon Ruiz and Arizona-based pastor Scot Anderson in a classic battle of Teen Titans versus Curve Sentinels.
Adam Prosak is a five-time $10K Top 8 competitor and has played in a Top 8 on the Pro Circuit. In contrast, Taver Chong has never played in a Top 8.
Today’s Top 8 is a battle for dominance between the two former kings of the hill. The lines are clearly drawn, with four of each archetype poised to make a run at the title.

I searched the top tables for some matchup that wasn’t just Teen Titans vs. Curve Sentinels. Just as I was about to give up hope, I found the match between Ruben Recinos and Kevyn Lee.
With the release of Avengers only a few weeks away, previews for the Avengers set have started to circulate.
As of the start of round 8, only one player stood undefeated among the initial field of 154. That player is Niles Rowland.
It's round 7, and only two decks remain undefeated. I’ll give you one guess what those two decks are.
Where can those of us who enjoy playing a game about comic books go to be accepted? The answer? Right here.
There’s New School, and then there’s Even Newer New School.
Round 5 featured the surprise undefeated deck of the tournament, a Superman Robots deck featuring Longshot, piloted by Raymond Purnama.
We are now about a third of the way through Day 1 of $10K San Diego, and I decided to take a look around the top tables to see what has been doing well so far.
After weeks of speculation about what the new banning and errata would do to the Golden Age environment, we finally have some data that lets us know what a post-Overload/Rama-Tut format looks like.
As much as things change, still they stay the same. This is the first tournament in the new post-ban Golden Age, and this is my first feature match of the day.
