After a long, hard day of gaming, many weary players are thinking of the nice warm meal they’ll be having and the warm, soft bed waiting for them at home. But for a group of twenty-four players, there are no such luxuries. Instead, they will be dreaming of raising the much-coveted $10K championship trophy in triumph tomorrow.
Okay, maybe not all twenty-four players. With his prefect record today, Mon Lopez has neigh guaranteed himself a spot in the Top 8 and can relax for the initial pod tomorrow. Arvin, on the other hand, will probably be up reading all the material he can find on how to draft.
Neither is it a definite that the trophy will stay in the Philippines. Though most of the foreign competition has been eliminated, Bertram from Singapore is still in contention for the trophy with a comfortable 7-1 record. Only time will tell if this ambitious player takes the win or if the champion will be from the home team; stay tuned throughout the day as we cover Day 2 of $10K Manila 2006!
