During round 6, two players were disqualified for unsporting conduct. Eddie Anderson had been watching a match as a spectator and shouted profanities at a player. When asked by judge Brian Hacker what his name was, and if he was playing in the tournament, the professional opinion was that he lied. When Anderson was spotted playing in the next round playing in the tournament, it was brought to the attention of head judge Alex Charsky. “We took into account the fact that he was being unsporting to a player. After I sat down and interviewed him with tournament manager Scott Elliott, he lied to us. He said that the judge did not ask him his name or ask him if he was in the tournament. I have no doubt in the judge, so we disqualified him for lying to tournament officials and being unsporting.” Stephen Berrios was disqualified for similar actions. “Stephen was unhappy about a game loss, and decided to be unsporting about it. I gave him repeated warnings, and he chose to ignore them, so he was disqualified.”

Alex Charsky was quick to point out the judging staff’s philosophy towards these kinds of actions at Pro Circuit events. “We certainly don’t tolerate unsporting conduct, and we are very clear on our stance. We want everyone to be cool and professional.”
