The Sentry™
Card# MTU-017

While his stats aren’t much bigger than those of the average 7-drop, Sentry’s “Pay ATK” power can drastically hinder an opponent’s attacking options in the late game.

UDE Pro Circuit New York 2005: News and Notes
Scott Elliott

As most of you already know, Pro Circuit New York 2005 is only a few days away. Here are some things to know before you come to the show.

Read the player packet. This is located at www.ude.com/PCNewYork under the “Player Pack” button. It is full of useful information, including schedules, hotel info, train info and more. You might even want to print out a copy to bring with you.

Anyone can come. I hope that this is not a surprise. You are all welcome to come to Pro Circuit New York. Even if you are not qualified to play in the PC, you can play in side events or hang out and watch. If you are in traveling distance of New York and have friends who don’t know how to play but want to see the how cool everything is at the PC, bring them, too. We’ll even teach them how to play.

Chair massages. We have arranged to have chair massages available for the Pro Players at PC New York. ’Nuff said? I think so.

Sealed Deck $10K Championship Tournament. This will be the first Sealed Pack $10K in North America. Details: Green Lantern Corps Sealed Deck format. There will be two Sealed Deck builds on Day 1 with a cut to Top 24 players at end of the day. Day 2 will consist of Green Lantern Corps draft pods for the Top 24 with a cut to a single-elimination Top 8 after three rounds of draft pod play. $10K Championship prizes extend to 64th place. Prize money extends to 24th place. Everyone who makes the Day 2 cut will receive prize money and product.

Judge certification is available. For those of you who would like to take theVs. System rules Level 2 exam, testing will be available on-site. For those of you who have not been able to take online exams due to password issues, we will help you update your player information and retrieve your password.

Yes, those emails from Upper Deck’s European office are legitimate
. If you won money in Amsterdam for the $10K Championship or for the Pro Circuit, the European staff was recently told that they have to collect a small amount of additional data before they can execute payment for your winnings. Sorry for the inconvenience—we have to toe the line with international laws. Please follow-up regarding these emails. If you should have received such an email but have not, please email Stefan_Strybol (at) upperdeck (dot) com, with the subject line “PC Amsterdam payment.” Include your name and UDE number in the email body.

Be ready for fun. We have a full array of Vs. tournaments lined up. Check the side events schedule on the www.ude.com/PCNewYork page for more information.

Some general news—The Batman and Fantastic Four Starter Decks are listed as being legal for tournament play as of June 1, 2005, in the online tournament policy document (www.ude.com/policy). This means that these decks are legal for the Golden Age format and the Modern Age formats (Batman for Modern or DC Modern; Fantastic Four for Modern or Marvel Modern). Expect an update to the Vs. System tournament policy sooner than October 1, 2005, as listed in the document.

I look forward to seeing you in New York.
