It’s the first game of the second pod and both players are still holding on to perfect records. They’ll have to trust in their new creations for this next phase of the tournament.

Norvic chose to play odds, and Mon opened the game with uncontested board advantage in a Weather Wizard on turn 2.

On turn 3, Norvic recruited a visible Michael Holt ◊ Mr. Terrific, while Mon had Zazzala ◊ Queen Bee, Mistress of the Hive in front of Weather Wizard. Michael attacked Zazzala and Norvic activated Rann for an extra point of endurance loss before the double stun. Mon then flipped Systematic Torture to increase his board advantage lead.

Mon recruited Valentina Vostok ◊ Negative Woman in the concealed area on turn 4, and Norvic fell further behind in board position as he could only muster Kendra Saunders ◊ Hawkgirl. Valentina attacked Kendra, and Norvic activated Rann for a double stun. With the path to Norvic clear, Mon’s board advantage was rapidly turning into endurance advantage. Mon flipped Leslie Thompkins’s Clinic and then No Mercy, returning his Weather Wizard to further widen the board advantage gap between himself and Norvic.

This prompted a cry of pure anguish from Norvic, who exclaimed, “Wah . . . Constructed!”

On turn 5, Norvic recruited Wonder Woman, Earth 2 and Mon had Cheshire. He used Valentina’s backup ability on Wonder Woman and formed with all his characters in his front row. Wonder Woman attacked Zazzala with support with Rann and Death from Above, but Mon had a power-up to force a double stun. Mon counterattacked with an activation of Rann to bring Norvic down to 9 endurance.

Mon played Superman, Earth 2 on turn 6 and Norvic simply conceded.
