Without further ado, here is a breakdown of what competitors are playing today:
Curve Sentinels: 19 Common Enemy: 6 Teen Titans: 6 Sinister Syndicate: 4 Big Brotherhood: 3 Doom/Darkseid’s Elite: 2 Evil Medical School: 2 Fantastic Four Beats: 2 Fantastic Fun: 2 LoA/Brotherhood: 2
One each of: Wild Pack, Sentinels (Non-Curve), Revenge Squad/New Gods, Mutant Nation, My Beloved, Unaffiliated, Psimon Says (Doom/Fearsome Five), Teen Titans/Brotherhood, Gotham Knights, Marvel Knights/Underworld, TNB, Rigged Elections (using MK), Strange Spider (Spider-Friends/Marvel Knights), Marvel Knights/Sinister Syndicate, Wild Vomit, Heroes United, X-Men Beats, Brotherhood of Mephisto, Thuggee/Skrull Vomit, and a deck described only as “Other.”
Curve Sentinels were the most prevalent deck, as expected, with Common Enemy, Teen Titans and—surprisingly—Sinister Syndicate also among the more popular.
The variety of decks registered was highly surprising, with more than one or two very original decks. In particular, the Thuggee/Skrull Vomit deck was attracting some early buzz. With so many unique deck choices—decks played by only a single player comprise a third of the field—it’s a good bet some new, interesting archetypes will emerge from Brisbane today.
