Game 1
Yoo’s first turn Surprise Attack made Prosak lose 5 endurance. Prosak had a second turn Destiny, and Yoo played Toad. Prosak played Mystique, then both players had Sabertooth, Feral Rage. Prosak was able to stun two of Yoo’s characters on the attack, and Avalon Space Station gave him some card advantage. Yoo was able to fight back with Ka-Boom! to take care of the Space Station, and Savage Beatdown to help an attack work out in his favor. Prosak played Quicksilver, Speed Demon, gave it a Flying Kick, and attacked Rogue. The New Brotherhood was flipped over to make Quicksilver even bigger, but Yoo had the perfect answer in Overload. Prosak angrily turned over his now stunned character. Yoo’s Sabretooth attacked into Prosak’s Destiny, and Surprise Attack did the rest to win the game.
Yoo 1 – Prosak 0
Game 2
Neither player had any characters on turns 1 or 2. They both had Rogue on turn 3, and Prosak sent his after Yoo’s. To make the identical board completely lopsided, Prosak flipped over two copies of The New Brotherhood, which helped some breakthrough points get through. Yoo played Destiny and Mystique, while Prosak played Sabretooth. Yoo’s Rogue took Flying Kick and attacked Sabretooth. Yoo flipped over a New Brotherhood of his own, and both characters were stunned. Thanks to Destiny, a little more endurance loss was pushed through as well. Mystique attacked and stunned Prosak’s Rogue, and during recovery Prosak lost Rogue. He did use Avalon Space Station, however, then took his initiative and activated Genosha to draw more cards. This led to Blob, and Yoo played Scarlet Witch. Sabretooth attacked her, and she became stunned. Blob attacked Rogue, and she was reinforced by Destiny before becoming stunned.
Avalon Space Station improved things more for Prosak, and then it became his initiative. He played Rogue and Pyro, putting everyone behind Blob. Scarlet Witch got through Blob, and then Sabretooth charged into Pyro. After plot twists and power-ups went on the chain, Yoo used Overload to take care of Pyro. This readied Sabretooth, and another attack stunned one more of Prosak’s characters, bringing him down to three. Prosak played Blob and was looking to pull off the win at a very low endurance total. Rogue attacked and stunned Destiny, and Blob attacked Scarlet Witch. He was powered up, and Yoo didn’t have any tricks to keep the Witch from becoming stunned. He shrugged and scooped his cards, as the match went to a third and deciding game.
Yoo 1 – Prosak 1
Game 3
Yoo played Destiny, and both players had Pyro on turn 2. Yoo played Mystique, and Prosak played a Destiny of his own. The New Brotherhood made his side more threatening, but thanks to an early Surprise Attack, Prosak’s character-light draw, and time running out, Prosak conceded after Genosha didn’t provide anything.
Final Result: Joseph Yoo defeats Adam Prosak, 2–1
