While his stats aren’t much bigger than those of the average 7-drop, Sentry’s “Pay ATK” power can drastically hinder an opponent’s attacking options in the late game.

How did you first learn about the Vs. System TCG? Game Gyaza. I read it every month. There is lots of math involved, and I like the shared turn structure. It’s really interesting.
Did you already have a group of friends that you played TCGs with? Yes—we played every week. I told my friends about the game, and they started playing. I also work in a card shop a couple of hours North of Tokyo in Saitama-ken. I came alone this time, but next time I’ll bring my friends. I use Sealed Pack to teach people how to play, since Avengers is actually in Japanese.
Tell me about your draft deck today. It was the first time I booster drafted, but I still have a pretty good deck, although I went 1-2 with it. I chose Avengers, Thunderbolts, Squadron Supreme, and a couple of Kang cards. The 7-drop Kang helped me to win a match.
What about the draft itelf? It was really hard, because often I struggled to decide whether to take a good plot twist or a really good character. Of course, I wanted both. I knew that I would be with those three teams after my first pack, so I focused on them.
In sealed deck, what cards helped you the most? Vision. His activated power is very nice—he helped me to win two matches. Mammomax helped me, too. I played him on turn 3 almost every time.
What was the hardest part about making your sealed decks yesterday? For the first sealed deck I had six Avengers cards, six Thunderbolts cards, and four or five cards for other teams—so it was hard to choose teams. I picked good cards from every team.
Who is your favorite character for Marvel? 7-drop Kang! |
