If you’ve been reading the coverage so far, then you’ve already heard about Miguel Tarin’s destructive urges with The New Brotherhood. He just played round 8, winning once again at table one.
I thought my eyes were acting up again when I glanced at the pairings—there was a second Tarin—Mario Tarin. As soon as I saw him on table two, I knew he was related to Miguel. It turns out that they are brothers. I sat down and watched the end of his tense Curve Sentinels mirror against Ignacio Martins.
It all came down to a double Sentinel Mark V, Magneto, Master of Magnetism, Bastion, and Nimrod, Mutant Hunter against Magneto, Master of Magnetism, Bastion, and Nimrod, Mutant Hunter. There were a gazillion cards in Tarin’s hand, but only a single card in Ignacio’s. Still, Ignacio had the initiative and the advantage in the endurance and character counts.
A massive combat phase and something like ten minutes later, Mario squeezed out a win by 5 endurance. His last play was . . . Savage Beatdown.
Hopefully, the Deities of Pairings will help us out and give us a Tarin mirror match before the day is over. It seems inevitable, with both TNB decks sitting at the top of the standings.
