The Sentry™
Card# MTU-017

While his stats aren’t much bigger than those of the average 7-drop, Sentry’s “Pay ATK” power can drastically hinder an opponent’s attacking options in the late game.

$10K Philadelphia

Today marks a turning point in the history of the Vs. System. This is the first Top 8 in a very long time without a single appearance by Curve Sentinels. It also marks the re-emergence of several older decks, including Teen Titans and The New Brotherhood. When all is said and done, though, $10K Philadelphia will be remembered as the event that debuted Dr. Light. Two players of this dominant deck made the finals, and Stephen Silverman's relatively untuned build prevailed by virtue of having the oh-so-critical Dr. Doom for the mirror match. In fact, two of the final three games were decided the moment Dr. Doom entered play.

Both Craig Edwards and Stephen Silverman made a lasting impact on the game by introducing this devastating new combo deck. Will it continue to dominate tournaments in the weeks and months to come? Only time will tell. But for today, congratulations to Stephen Silverman, winner of $10K Philadelphia!

Day 2
Craig began turn 3 with the initiative. “I'm actually killing you this turn,” said Craig. “Really?” asked Stephen. “Yeah,” replied Craig. “Good game, though.”
Rich had choice of initiatives once again, and he once again chose to take the evens. Stephen happily kept his hand, while Rich mulliganed. “This is bad,” said Rich.
The players joked about the brutal effectiveness of Craig's deck as they shuffled up. Before decks were presented, Stephen Silverman announced that he had won his match in thirteen minutes.

The day has dawned on a beautiful Sunday here at $10K Philadelphia, and this Top 8 is one of the most interesting we have seen in quite a while.
Day 1
The diversity of this Top 8 is a welcome relief from the dominance of Curve Sentinels in recent months . . .
For this round's feature match we visit table 2, where Rich Brady's Teen Titans square off against Craig Edwards's Dr. Light deck.
This matchup is between two prolific but largely unknown players. David is playing Teen Titans, while Ryan is playing The New Brotherhood.
Both of these players are 4-2, and a loss here would probably put either player out of contention for Top 8.
This new deck, also know as “The Dr. Light Deck,” “Rama-Tut Combo,” or simply “Jar,” has taken the tournament by storm.
While Curve Sentinels remains the most popular deck, it's nowhere near as dominant as it has been for most tournaments in recent memory.
This match pitted seasoned TCG professional Gerard Fabiano against local deckbuilder Stephen Silverman. Gerard is playing “whatever,” and Stephen is playing the much-heralded Dr. Light combo deck.
Green Lantern is making more of an impact than just a few scattered cards seeing play. There are several decks in the tournament that are built entirely upon the Green Lantern team affiliation . . .
Both of these players are Vs. System mainstays who finished in the money in the recent PC New York. As I found out after we sat down, these excellent players share other traits: they're members of the same testing team and are playing the same deck.
The first feature match of the tournament is between two Philadelphia natives, Dan Bridy and Ryan Fee.
The day has dawned on the city of brotherly love, and with the sun has come a legion of bleary-eyed Vs. System competitors.
