The Sentry™
Card# MTU-017

While his stats aren’t much bigger than those of the average 7-drop, Sentry’s “Pay ATK” power can drastically hinder an opponent’s attacking options in the late game.

Titans and Good guys dominated Day 2, but when it came down to it, it was High Voltage vs. Teen Titans in the finals. Aaron had to get past the Titans mirror in the quarterfinals played by Luther, and then he dispatched Jared Blakemore in a Good Guys matchup to reach the finals. Shaun Hayward had to play his hardest match-up in the quarterfinals when he played Andrew Corney with his Sentinels tuned to beat small characters. Shaun dug really deep and beat Andrew in two hard-fought and close games. When he got to the semifinals, he played Shaun McDowell’s Teen Titans deck, but some play errors and bad draws caused McDowell’s downfall. In the Finals it was a bit of a mismatched affair, but players did not draw well but Shaun’s deck punishes those that don’t draw well and defeated Aarron 2-0 in under 50 minutes. Congratulations to the entire Top 8, but especially to Shaun Hayward, $10K Auckland Champion!

Day Two
This is a new experience for Aarron Chittock. Never has there been so much on the line for him, and yet he seems relatively calm for just winning his last match in 2 hours, winning 2-1 against Jared Blakemore.
Shaun Hayward is playing up-and-comer Shaun McDowell in this semifinal match.
Sam Kwang is playing teammate Jared Blakemore in this quarterfinal, which had to happen at some point, since there are five players on the same team in the Top 8.

Check out the Top 8 decklists here!
Scott’s deck is interesting because other than GLEE-ATK, it’s the first real weenie swarm deck that attacks for the win without having Faces of Evil in the deck.
Shaun Hayward is playing a new creation that was made by himself and his team, The Four Horsemen, and is looking to add another $10K title to his $10K Brisbane title.
Karol Ruszkiewicz has only been playing Vs. for eight days and has a fantastic 5-1 record.
Jared Blakemore is from Wellington and came up with a big crew of his mates to try and take the big title.
Here’s the metagame breakdown for $10K Auckland.
In round 4, we have two New Zealanders pitted against each other.
Jared is an old-school gamer and has recently moved up to Auckland in search of a better life. Not only is he a great gamer, but he’s also a well-respected individual in the community.
As the traditional Teams event was underway the night before the $10K, I did some quick interviews with several players.
