In any piece of tournament coverage, you tend to run across insightful interviews with the tournament’s successful players. On a suggestion from someone here, though . . . don’t people learn more from their mistakes? On that note, perhaps you can learn from the mistakes of these particular players. They are all near the bottom of the standings.
What’s your name, and where are you from? Adun Johnson, from Brooklyn, New York
What’s your record right now? 3-5
What deck did you play? No Asylum
What went wrong for you today? I would think the metagame, probably. Betrayal was a better metagame choice than some of the cards I put in the deck.
If you could do it all again, what would you have played? The same deck, but with a few cards changed.
What’s your name, and where are you from? Jason Hollins, from South Jersey
What’s your record right now? 1-7
What deck did you play? Beverage Master (Bevatron). Longshot gets you two Hellfire Army characters. You team-up with Brave New World with Bevatron’s ability on the chain and make her huge.
What went wrong for you today? Just bad draws and bad matchup. Titans is a bad matchup (they use Terra on Bevatron), and we expected there to be more Voltage.
If you could do it all again, what would you have played? Curve Sentinels, because everyone played Titans.
What’s your name, and where are you from? Chad DeSantis, from Long Island
What’s your record right now? 2-6
What deck did you play? Good Guys.
What went wrong for you today? Missing drops and team-ups
If you could do it all again, what would you have played? My homebrew X-Statix deck.
