Edgar is currently at the top of the standings and is the only undefeated player left. A local judge has just come up to me with an interesting tidbit of information. Both of these top-notch players are also retailers and hold their own Hobby Leagues in their stores. I'll be calling this the Clash of the Retailers.
Edgar won the die roll and opted for the odd initiative. He missed his first drop, however, and Jose Maria was the first to draw blood with
Vulture.
On turn 2, Jose Maria discarded Dagger for
Midnight Sons and recruited
Hammerhead. Edgar had
Werewolf by Night, which wasn't going to do much to stem the pain from Jose Maria's character. However, he does also have
Mikado and Mosha, which he discarded to stun
Vulture. Though he had to endure
Hammerhead's attack, he was able to counter to equalize the board position.
Dr. Octopus swung down the curve into
Suicide and exhausted Luke Cage, who was standing in the front of the hidden area.
Suicide was stunned. With the path clear, Elektra and
Hammerhead went in for some 13 points of endurance loss.
Doc Ock's Lab contributed another 3 points. Now it was Edgar's turn to decline to attack.
Werewolf by Night attempted to take down Dr. Octopus with
Hell's Fury and succeeded.
Suicide then tried to land a
Flying Kick on Daredevil, but the blind acrobat was quick to dive into the hidden area. Denied, Suicide vented his frustration on
Hammerhead, but the little critter had
No Fear and they double stun.
But Edgar would not be shaken from his quarry, and he paid 3 endurance for Luke Cage to attack Daredevil.
Evil Awakens widened the endurance gap and Edgar recurred
Mikado and Mosha as insurance. Edgar concluded his attack with Blade and added
Crime and Punishment and
Hell's Fury for some 17 endurance points.
Jose Maria gave it his best shot, but it was insufficient to take the game..
