Ben had Melissa Gold ◊ Songbird, Sonic Carapace. Melissa ran over Archangel, and Ben led 49-40 in recovery.
Ben began turn 3 by playing Enemy of My Enemy for Sage, Xavier’s Secret Weapon. He set up with Sage protecting Melissa, and then passed. Josh played Dr. Light, Master of Holograms and returned Foxfire to play. In combat, Ben took down Foxfire with Melissa Gold, stunning both characters. Sage attacked Archangel, and the 1-drop went down. Josh had no attacks and recovered neither of his characters. Ben led 47-29.
Josh had the initiative on turn 4, and he recruited Beetle, Armorsmith. Deadshot, Floyd Lawton was discarded to fetch Josh a copy of Hope. He used Slaughter Swamp, discarding Roy Harper ◊ Arsenal, Knight to return Archangel to his hand. He recruited Archangel, discarding Poison Ivy, Deadly Rose to search for another Amsterdam. Josh had 1 point remaining, and he used it to recruit Hope. Finally, Josh activated Dr. Light to put Ivy back into play, and then passed. Ben played Ape X, searching out a Flamethrower. He also played Joystick. Both of Ben’s 1-drops received Flamethrowers. Ben set up with Ape in front of Joystick and Sage in front of Melissa, and then passed. In combat, Josh sent Archangel into Ape X. Ben exhausted the 1-drop to burn Josh for 5, then flipped Die for Darkseid! with the KO effect on the chain to hit him for another 4. Josh teamed-up Masters of Evil, Revenge Squad, and Green Lantern with a flipped UN Building. He team attacked Sage with Kyle and Hope. Mikado and Mosha took Hope down, and Kyle was brick-walled by the 3-drop. Josh passed on any further attacks. The onslaught that ensued from Ben clinched him the game.
