The Sentry™
Card# MTU-017

While his stats aren’t much bigger than those of the average 7-drop, Sentry’s “Pay ATK” power can drastically hinder an opponent’s attacking options in the late game.

Metagame Breakdown
Gary Wise

Last night’s warm-up saw a field dominated by Curve Sentinels, a deck played by more than fifty percent of the competitors. This distribution is in contrast to the expected local metagame, where variants of Teen Titans have proven to be the dominant deck more times than not.

The warm-up’s unusual metagame led to a great deal of speculation among the players regarding what sort of decks would show up today. Fortunately, unlike the players, we metagame.com reporter-types have access to tournament decklists the moment the proceedings get under way. Here, then, is a look at how the decks break down:

DECK                                     # OF PLAYERS

Sentinels                                  30
Brotherhood                              23
Doom                                       19
Teen Titans                              18
X-Men                                     16
Gotham Knights                         11
Fantastic Four                           9
Spider-Friends                           5
New Gods                                 2
Daredevil                                  2
Superman                                 1
Skrulls                                      1

Sentinels, while still the most common deck choice, has nowhere near the numbers it was sporting at the warm-up event. It’s a wide-open field, folks. Personally, I’m cheering for the Skrulls.
