Tillman Bragg is a successful professional player and member of The Donkey Club. Michael is an Ohio native without any professional finishes to his name. However, his record currently stands at 5-0, so he’s in a good position to make a name for himself today. Tillman won the die roll and selected the odd initiatives.

Tillman had the first play of the game in Terry Sloane ◊ Mr. Terrific, Golden Age Gold Medalist. Michael had no play. On turn 2, though, Michael recruited Dane Whitman ◊ Black Knight. Tillman had Beetle, Armorsmith, discarding Mr. Mxyzptlk, Troublesome Trickster to search for Archangel, Angel. He passed to Michael, who sent Dane into Beetle. Both characters stunned. Terry attacked back directly, and that was the turn. The endurance totals were tied at 47 apiece.

Turn 3 was Tillman’s initiative. He played Enemy of My Enemy, discarding Archangel to search for Poison Ivy, Deadly Rose. He recruited Dr. Light, Master of Holograms and exhausted him to return Archangel to play. Mxyzptlk was discarded to his ability, allowing Tillman to search out a copy of X-Corp: Amsterdam. Tillman moved his characters to the front row — except for Dr. Light, protected by Beetle — and passed. Michael played Black Panther, T’Challa in the hidden area, revealing two reservists. He passed right back. In combat, Archangel went after Dane Whitman. Both characters stunned. Beetle and Terry attacked directly, and Tillman passed. On Michael’s initiative, he sent Black Panther into Beetle. The 2-drop stunned. In recovery, Tillman KO’d Beetle. He had now established a lead of 41-40.

On turn 4, Michael recruited Hawkeye, Clinton Barton behind Dane before passing. Tillman used Dr. Light to recur Beetle, discarding Mxyzptlk to search out a copy of Nightshade, Eve Eden. He recruited Poison Ivy, Nightshade, and Detective Chimp, Bobo T. Chimpanzee — the latter two in the hidden area. Tillman formed with Beetle protecting Dr. Light and Archangel protecting Poison Ivy, then passed. In combat, Michael used Hawkeye to stun Terry and Archangel. In response, Tillman used two Amsterdams to get two copies of Faces of Evil. Still in response, Tillman KO’d the Archangel to Ivy to get a copy of Birthing Chamber. Dane attacked Beetle, and Michael played Call Down the Lightning. Tillman flipped and used his Birthing Chamber, discarding Melissa Gold ◊ Screaming Mimi, Mimi Schwartz. Tillman used the Chimp to give all of his characters the Thunderbolts affiliation, and flipped up both of his copies of Faces of Evil. Tillman allowed the attack to resolve, and Beetle stunned. Black Panther attacked and stunned Dr. Light without difficulty. Tillman had no attacks, so that was the turn. Beetle and Terry were lost in recovery. Michael led, 40-28.

Tillman began turn 5 by playing Hard Sound Construct on Beetle. He discarded his Mxyzptlk to search for Viper. Tillman used Birthing Chamber to draw a card, and then recruited Yellowjacket, Rita Demara with boost. He searched out another copy of Yellowjacket. Next, Tillman recruited Viper in the visible area. Klaw, Sonic Construct was recruited, leaving Tillman with one resource point. He used Dr. Light to return Melissa Gold to play, and used his final resource point to burn Michael for 9. Tillman set up and passed to Michael, who recruited Sub-Mariner, Namor in front of Hawkeye. In combat, Tillman sent Beetle into Hawkeye. In response, Michael exhausted Hawkeye to stun Detective Chimp and Klaw. In response to that, Tillman used Detective Chimp to give all of his characters the Superman affiliation. He KO’d Klaw to Ivy to search his deck for The Kent Farm, which he left face down. Tillman’s resource row was now three copies of Faces (he had played another this turn), a Chamber, and a face down Farm. Tillman’s Chimp stunned to Hawkeye, and then Hawkeye himself went down with Beetle when the attack resolved. Yellowjacket took down Dane Whitman, and then Nightshade went after Sub-Mariner. Tillman paid 12 endurance to bring Nightshade up to 9 ATK. Michael powered up, and Tillman paid again. Both characters stunned. Tillman flipped The Kent Farm and attacked directly for 29 and the game.
