With Pro Circuit Atlanta just a scant week in the past, this weekend is the Vs. community’s second run at Marvel Modern Age. Eighty players have converged on Horizicon here in Austin, Texas in an attempt to take home the first $10K trophy of the new format. There are a lot of familiar faces in attendance here today—several of the game’s top competitors, including Shane Wiggans (who placed second at Atlanta), have made the trip. There are also representatives from some of the top teams, as players from as far away as Las Vegas have come directly from Atlanta to try their luck. And, of course, there are plenty of locals here vying for the trophy, as well.
In a parallel to the varied player base, we’ll surely see plenty of decks here that enjoyed great success at Atlanta, but I wouldn’t be surprised if some new builds and tech cards pop up to help stem the tide of the powerhouse Squadron and Faces decks. Will this be another overwhelming victory for Squadron, or will a rogue deck take home the prize? The only way to find out is to stay tuned to Metagame.com’s continuing live coverage of $10K Austin!
