The Sentry™
Card# MTU-017

While his stats aren’t much bigger than those of the average 7-drop, Sentry’s “Pay ATK” power can drastically hinder an opponent’s attacking options in the late game.

$10K Sydney 2006
Metagame Staff

The Sydney $10K has finally come to a close! It’s been a long, tough, and quite diverse road to the top, but in the end, it was Kakarot Turker of team The Four Horsemen who took the trophy home to display proudly on his mantle . . . or playmat . . . or poker table? Somewhere, anyway; regardless of where it sits, it will be a constant reminder of the day when, after almost a year of multiple $10K Top 8s, and several very close calls, Kakarot finally got the number one spot he has rightly earned.

Kakarot, with his Ronan Plan deck (a Lost In Space variant, all teched-out), took out first-time Top 8’er Michael Lou, whose ridiculously inventive THE Skrull deck lost only one game on day 1. For two games, Michael fought and for two games he was denied, as, in the end, Kakarot’s experience, skill, and inventive tech got the better of him. The top-table newcomer, however, is to be congratulated on his incredibly powerful, classic-Vs. style Beats deck, which I’m sure will be an inspiration to other players in this fast-moving metagame. If anything, it underlines that, in Silver Age, anything really is possible, and nothing but nothing is a sure thing.

Congratulations go out to all players this weekend, especially Kakarot Turker, winner of $10K Sydney for 2006.

Day 2
It’s been 11 rounds of play and we're finally down to two players.
Kakarot hails from Adelaide and is one of the most consistent Vs. System players in the country.
It’s Michael Lou’s first time in the Top 8, and he’s definitely turning heads.
This is the furthest either player has progressed in a $10K. Both are top players and nice guys and deserve to be here.
More fun with the “Pose as your favorite card!” playset!
Day 1
James is one of the best guys on the Vs. System scene.
Kerryn Rubin gives us insight into what PMS is like.
Michael, true to form, is playing an amazing Skrull build, and Shaun is playing a Lost in Space variant, that packs various row-stopping tech.
Scott Hunstad, guru of all things Games and co-owner of Good Games in Sydney takes on the might of Dane Lawrence's Kang deck.
Pro Circuit Los Angeles has unquestionably had a massive impact on $10K Sydney.
Is today the day for Deep to prove himself, and earn the title he deserves?
Logan Bolam relays his experiences from PC LA, and his predictions for today's $10K and the upcoming PC Sydney
Andrew is playing a heavily-teched Lost in Space deck, and Chris is sporting a fine Inhumans/Heralds deck.
This was Kurt’s first ever feature match, and he was certainly looking focused, as he shuffled his deck.
Dave Adams is a relatively new convert to Vs, having clocked in for the first time at the Brisbane $10K, just weeks after learning to play.
The crowd is in a lather for this top-of-the-charts feature match.
Kicking off the coverage we have two gentlemen with vast international Vs experience.
They got it. The Right Stuff. Oh yeah.
