The Sentry™
Card# MTU-017

While his stats aren’t much bigger than those of the average 7-drop, Sentry’s “Pay ATK” power can drastically hinder an opponent’s attacking options in the late game.

Draft 1: Rob Dougherty
Ted Knutson

Rob Dougherty is the owner of one of the largest game store chains in New England and the founder of the team based out of the stores named Your Move Games. YMG is actually legendary in the TCG world for containing some of the smartest and most successful collections of gamers to grace the TCG genre. That success extends across TCGs and includes Craig Edwards and his second place finish at Pro Circuit #1.

I talked to Rob before the draft, and he said that, like everyone else, he hasn’t had a ton of time to draft the new set. However, he really likes the Avengers set as a whole and thinks it may be the best set that UDE has produced yet.

Talking to Rob after the draft, he seemed pretty upbeat about his deck. He had a big hole in his 2-drops (only Blizzard), and a medium hole in his 5-drops (two characters there), but the rest of his deck contained some power and depth. Regarding his team choices, Rob said he leans toward Thunderbolts and Avengers because thinks they are more powerful, but the downfall of this strategy in draft is that they are also more obvious. The powers are not hard to figure out how to use them. For most of the draft, Rob was shuttling plot twists and locations to the back of the pack, paying little attention to those while concentrating on filling out his curve. “Plot twists are less important in this set because of the reservist mechanic, and I loooove the reservists. Additionally, a lot of my guys have strong abilities, so I didn’t need to worry about twists as much. It also helps that I have an absolutely ridiculous 7-drop in my pile if the games make it that long."
