The Sentry™
Card# MTU-017
While his stats aren’t much bigger than those of the average 7-drop, Sentry’s “Pay ATK” power can drastically hinder an opponent’s attacking options in the late game.

Name: Vidianto Wijaya Location of Residence: Los Angeles, California Occupation: Student Age: 21 Deck you played today, and why: Fantastic Not So Fun, because I want to know how it feels playing a deck without [Savage Beatdown] and [Overload]. Matchups you’re hoping to face tomorrow: Don’t know . . . J Matchups you’re hoping to not face tomorrow: Something with [Total Anarchy] What do you feel are the top three decks in the current Golden Age environment? Teen Titans, Curve Sentinels, and FFun (Sorry TNB . . . ) What do you feel are the top three decks in the current Marvel Modern Age environment? MK/Sinister Syndicate, MK/Underworld, and Crime Lords/Sinister Syndicate.
Name: Colin Rodriguez Location of Residence: Bakersfield, California Occupation: Student at Stanford University Age: 20 Deck you played today, and why: Curve Sentinels. It’s consistent and has game against basically all decks. Matchups you’re hoping to face tomorrow: FF Burn. [Total Anarchy] is the nuts! Matchups you’re hoping to not face tomorrow: Mirror (other Curve Sentinels)—it’s all luck. What do you feel are the top three decks in the current Golden Age environment? Curve Sentinels, Teen Titans, and TNB. What do you feel are the top three decks in the current Marvel Modern Age environment? MK/Underworld, MK/Syndicate, and Crime Lords/Syndicate.
Name: Christopher J. Housley Location of Residence: Spokane, Washington Occupation: Student Age: 19 Deck you played today, and why: Curve Sentinels. What do you feel are the top three decks in the current Golden Age environment? Curve Sentinels, Teen Titans, and Evil Medical School. Name: Patrick Yapjoco Location of Residence: Orange County, California Occupation: Mortgage Associate Age: 25 Deck you played today, and why: Teen Titans, because I got slaughtered by it in the Top 8 at $10K LA. If you can’t beat ’em, join ’em. Matchups you’re hoping to face tomorrow: EMS or Big Brotherhood, or even TNB. Matchups you’re hoping to not face tomorrow: Fantastic Fun or Sentinels. What do you feel are the top three decks in the current Golden Age environment? Teen Titans, Curve Sentinels, and Fantastic Fun. What do you feel are the top three decks in the current Marvel Modern Age environment? MK/Underworld, X-Statix, and Underworld/Crime Lords with [Deathwatch].
Name: Peter Sundholm Location of Residence: Lacey, WA Occupation: Computer Programmer Age: 34 Deck you played today, and why: Curve Sentinel, because I’m too dumb to play Titans and too slow to play TNB. Matchups you’re hoping to face tomorrow: Mirrors where my opponent misses [Bastion]. Matchups you’re hoping to not face tomorrow: EMS. What do you feel are the top three decks in the current Golden Age environment? Curve Sentinel, Titans, and EMS. What do you feel are the top three decks in the current Marvel Modern Age environment? SyndiKnights, played by our team in Amsterdam, [Honor Among Thieves], and MK/Underworld.
Name: Olav Rokne, a.k.a. “Nightfist” Location of Residence: Calgary, Alberta Occupation: Journalist Age: 29 Deck you played today, and why: Evil Medical School. Back in 1978, a bolt of lightning tore through the airplane I was flying on and Earl Prusak pulled me from the wreckage. He was badly burned, and with his dying breath he made me promise to play Evil Medical School at a $10K in Seattle. I’ve carried the deck ever since, waiting for an opportunity to fulfill my promise. Matchups you’re hoping to face tomorrow: Tim Willoughby. I don’t think he’ll be there, but it would be neat to say “hi.” Matchups you’re hoping to not face tomorrow: Charizard Burn—it would mean I’m in the Pokemon tourney by accident. What do you feel are the top three decks in the current Golden Age environment? Sentinels, Fantastic Fun, and Teen Titans. What do you feel are the top three decks in the current Marvel Modern Age environment? I’ve never played Modern Age, so I have really no clue.
Name: Erik Cabanero Location of Residence: Bakersfield, California Occupation: Professional Somethin’ Age: 24 Deck you played today, and why: Fantastic Fun. It’s the nuts! Matchups you’re hoping to face tomorrow: Darkseid’s Elite. Matchups you’re hoping to not face tomorrow: [Total Anarchy] What do you feel are the top three decks in the current Golden Age environment? Titans, Curve Sentinels, and Fantastic Fun. What do you feel are the top three decks in the current Marvel Modern Age environment? MK/Crime Lords, Crime Lords/Sinister Syndicate, and MK/Underworld.
Name: Jason Kurtzhall Location of Residence: Spokane, Washington Occupation: Undisclosed Age: 27 Deck you played today, and why: Curve Sentinels, because I couldn’t beat it! Matchups you’re hoping to face tomorrow: I like the mirror match. Matchups you’re hoping to not face tomorrow: Evil Medical School looks like a pain in the @#$! What do you feel are the top three decks in the current Golden Age environment? Curve, Big Brotherhood, and Titans. What do you feel are the top three decks in the current Marvel Modern Age environment? Not sure, I haven’t really been playing it much. Syndicate/MK looks promising. |
