Anthony Justice started off this second draft pod sitting at 11-2, and he’s looking to make another stab at the Pro Circuit Top 8 here today in Indianapolis. Anthony gave us some comments on the draft and what he thought he did wrong and could have done better.

“I did pretty well, like I thought I would, but I was a bit upset with a couple of picks,” Anthony said as he laid out his cards and looked at his full draft. “I saw a Checkmate Armory early in the draft and was upset when I passed it and then picked one later over another card I never saw come back, and the one I passed came back to me. I picked the other one over an Amanda Waller, which would have been nice right about now.”
“The plan with this was to go off-curve somewhat with a possible curve to turn 6. I would have liked to get that Huntress, Reluctant Queen I passed, but it never came back to me,” Anthony said, as he noticed his lone 6-drop was Dr. Fate, Hector Hall. “I thought I might see another one, but I never did, so that did bite me a little as well.”
“These (Elimination Protocol ◊ OMAC Robot) guys are not as good as they look, since they’re not concealed,” Anthony continued, as he looked over his 4-drops. “The plan is to go all concealed up to turn 5 and then force my opponent to attack into Maxwell Lord, Black King or Roy Harper ◊ Arsenal, Knight. I guess I’ll just go a little light on 4-drops and run just Nightshade, Shadow Siren and Amanda Waller.”
“The first pack I opened was good on Checkmate—it had Laser Watch, Connie Webb, and a few other cards,” Anthony said commenting on how he could have done things a little differently. “I would have loved that Connie Webb, and I wish she had been passed back around, but I’m sure Michael Jacob, my teammate, picked her up as a third pick that pack since he loves her.”
“I saw all the Shadowpact stuff going around, and I really wanted to go into it, but this deck is simple so I’m glad I stuck with this,” Anthony said as he commented on the cards he passed away. “I thought about going into it, and I probably could have gone into it and had a fine deck, but I have no regrets about it.”
“It’s silly that I won’t play a second copy of my first pick in the draft, but I’m probably going to have to cut one of my Sashas,” Anthony said, as he pulled her from the table and looked over his final deck. “I think I can at least 2-1 with this, maybe 3-0, but at least 2-1.”
