Gale force winds buffeted the towers of the Detroit Renaissance center last night. Reaching speeds of over 65 miles per hour, the blustering gusts shredded local property and stopped travel into and out of the city. But the real storm was brewing inside.
A plethora of Vs. System’s best and most recognized players have descended on the heart of Detroit, each looking to take their share of the spotlight and, of course, ten thousand dollars. The largest showing ever of Team Realmsworx members, including PC Champion Ryan Jones, John “Bam Bam” Rich, Patrick Yapjoco, Carl Perlas, and many more, started trickling in 40 minutes before the event began and just didn’t stop coming. Many notable Toronto players, such as Charlotte Ashley and Will Thomas, are making their first forays into top-level premiere play today, looking to rep the city that may be the number one wild card factor in the PC New York metagame. At the same time, UDE netrep Tay Howland is making his playing debut as part of Team Realmsworx, and star players like $10K Chicago winner Michael Jacobs and PC Indy runner-up Craig Edwards are out to add another impressive finish to their list of accomplishments.
Though the field itself only consists of 140 competitors, it’s fair to say that this is the single most competitive metagame in Vs. history. Jam packed with established and rising stars, this clash of the northeast’s best will set the stage for PC: New York. Trends will be established and new tech will be tested, and rivalries are bound to emerge! We’re here in the eye of the storm all day long, so stay with us at Metagame.com for the strategy, interviews, and hot new tech that will define the day. It’s the final throwdown before Pro Circuit: New York, and it is on! |
