Star City Events will be hosting a judges' conference on Saturday, August 7, in Roanoke, Virginia at the Star City Game Center. The conference is for current Upper Deck Entertainment (UDE) judges and players interested in becoming judges. Alex Charsky from UDE will be present to teach and administer judge tests.
Classes Overview
Judge Skills 101: What are your responsibilities as a judge? How should you conduct yourself on the floor? We will begin with a round-table discussion about judging philosophy and general judging skills. Game-specific topics will not be discussed, though some examples may be used.
Judge Skills 201: How do you fix a procedural error? How do you deal with unsporting conduct? This class will cover various intermediate to advanced judging issues using a variety of role-playing scenarios.
MANTIS: Knowing how MANTIS works is key to running a successful event. We will cover basic MANTIS operation and discuss solutions to some common mistakes.
How to Head Judge a Smooth Event: This class will teach you everything you need to know in order to head judge a premier-level event.
Star City Events Procedure: Throughout the years, Star City Events has developed a series of systems and procedures to ensure that each of our events runs smoothly. In this class, we'll teach you everything you need to know in order to successfully run a premier-level event for Star City!
